This hostel is much farther from the SNCF station than 10 minutes on foot, and even farther from the bus terminal for the TGV shuttle bus. Keep that in mind if you are planning to walk it with luggage. Also, because of the winding roads, Google map is not very helpful in finding the shortest route! There was no WiFi during our stay, which was a bit of an inconvenience. The staff were always cheerful and helpful, which made our stay a lot more enjoyable.

I was looking for a cheap (but valuable) and well-located place to stay. Hotel des Arts fullfills both of these criteria. It is right at the doors of the old city centre. It is also quite easy to park your car. Otherwise, rooms are small, but clean and well-furnished. Staff is not that friendly but keen to help though. When knowing how expensive is Aix en Provence, it seems to me that Hotel des Arts is quite a good deal.

For french conditions friendly and helpful staff. The hostel proclaims itself as "sound proof" which is actually a joke, as the room walls are very thin, the doors have a 2 cm open space to the floor of the staircase and the stairs are wooden. I heard loud talking people coming home in the night, smashing the doors. Loud screaming children, a dog and even a woman crying in the morning. To ask 53,00 Euros as a "special offer" for just (trying) to sleep there is not acceptable.

The location was good but i think that it was expensive for the quality of services. I didn't liked the whole atmosphere of the hotel and specially the comportment of the staff. It was from the worst hotels i have ever been.
