Confortable beds, good shower. Room was a bit tiny and smelt a bit of cigarettes. Not a big problem, as we stayed for only one night. Would return if that was the case.
A really nice place to stay some days to visit Aix en Provence and nearby places and cities. Being very close to the city center will allow you to experience at the best the city itself. Very nice staff always willing to help you. It is also very cheap if you compare it with other hotels or accommodations.
It was really clean and the bed was comfortable. The room was tiny but had everything I needed, including a very quiet but very effective air conditioner. It was slightly annoying that my room on the top floor was out of range of wifi, but the little waiting/sitting room off the lobby that was comfortable enough to spend an hour catching up on email and planning my next few days of travel. The people at the desk were kind and helpful.

The hotel was fine, clean rooms and the location was fine - the address says Boulevard Cornot but that's the back of the hotel, the front is actually in a nicer street. Lovely market in Aix at the weekends.
Good value for money hotel. Lots of stairs no lift, need to be fit to enjoy stay. Breakfast was worth seven euros.
After reading some of the reviews of this place I wasn't sure what to expect. However after arriving I was pleasantly suprised!! No tiny pokey room, no deathly stairs - just a large clean room with bathroom that even had a large kitchen attached (not sure if we had some sort of apartment style accommodation considering there were three to the room). Very comfortable bed, and high quality sheets. Short walk to the center of town. Only difficulty was the staff didn't speek English at all.
The bathroom is too inside the room and not very good isolated. The staff in the morning is amazingly nice but we got a bit scared when we arrived at night and the receptionist was a bit moody.

The room was ok with all the essential facilities and a very good air conditioner. The window didn't open fully which was very annoying and the bathroom had an unusual sliding door which was outdated. Good for a short stay the hotel is 10 minutes from the city centre and the receptionist was quite helpful.
it is only five minutes walk away from the old town. brilliant. everything works. staff great. rooms clean.
This hostel is much farther from the SNCF station than 10 minutes on foot, and even farther from the bus terminal for the TGV shuttle bus. Keep that in mind if you are planning to walk it with luggage. Also, because of the winding roads, Google map is not very helpful in finding the shortest route! There was no WiFi during our stay, which was a bit of an inconvenience. The staff were always cheerful and helpful, which made our stay a lot more enjoyable.
I was looking for a cheap (but valuable) and well-located place to stay. Hotel des Arts fullfills both of these criteria. It is right at the doors of the old city centre. It is also quite easy to park your car. Otherwise, rooms are small, but clean and well-furnished. Staff is not that friendly but keen to help though. When knowing how expensive is Aix en Provence, it seems to me that Hotel des Arts is quite a good deal.
