The staff was very unfriendly. They also tried to sell us overpriced tours. The room was ok but the bed was uncomfortable and the shower didn't drain properly. Also there were a lot of cobwebs in the corners and ceiling. We did appreciate use of the kitchen and they were flexible with our booking. Also coffee was bad! Only time it was ok was really early in the morning, the rest of the time it tasted burnt.

The staff was not friendly or helpful upon my arrival. He showed me the room, it was very small, and hot. The drain in the shower was high, so the water didn't drain and there was standing water in the shower pan. I tried to use the communal kitchen. It was dirty and the drawers were empty except for spiders and webs, the utensils were stored elsewhere, but it creeped my out. The appliances were grubby, too. The fridge was full of food, but there were only two other guests at the hotel.

The hotel is in a great location and was very quiet. The staff is very helpfull and kind. For the price of the room, I cant imagine there is a better option in La Fortuna.

There were pretty few guests. We think that's because this place calls itself a hotel, when it could really benefit from re-branding itself as a hostel. The price and standards are probably a bit low for someone used to staying at hotels, but great for hostel-goers! Nice, clean rooms with decent bathrooms attached. The common areas and communal kitchen also give it a "hostel-y" vibe. Suggestion: Make common areas a bit cozier, staff a little friendlier and you would have a kick-ass hostel!
