We were overall happy with our stay here. The location is 2 minutes out of town with a spectacular view of the volcano. Our only complaint would be that the room wasn't cleaned regularly, you had to leave your key at reception and request it to be cleaned. The en suite gave off a bad sewage smell too. The guy at reception was helpful in the end but not the most amiable character.
Greeted by friendly and helpful staff who arranged our horse trip for the following day. Our room was a bit dull but clean. If you want more natural light, and a volcano view, you need to ask for an upstairs room. But ours was fine since there are lots of nice rocking chairs on the upstairs sitting area. I was also impressed with the large and well appointed shared kitchen and free coffee. 24 hr front desk attendant a plus. Close but not in the hustle of the main road. Good value.
Nice enough room with two fans but the window didn't have a screen in it so you had to choose between being eaten by bugs or being super hot. Wifi didn't reach our room. Pillows were unnaturally stiff and the mattress cover would not stay on the bed. Communal kitchen was nice enough.

This hostel was basic, clean and perfect for our stay in La Fortuna. Communal kitchen was great. Location is close to Grocery Stores and the Center of Town - all walking distance. They also offer tours from reception. Wi fi works pretty well too.
Really nice place and very good value for money. Very close to everywhere, really nice and helpful staff, clean. It's got all you need for your stay, even a big supermarket 1 minute away. 24h concierge. I'd stay three again with no hesitation.
