The bed was dirty. The boy's morning shift was very unsympathetic and somewhat helpful. But the man of the night (one blonde, can not remember name) was very friendly.
We very much enjoyed our stay at Hotel Du Commerce. We added an additional night before we arrived, and thus had to change rooms for the last night we were in Paris. The staff was really helpful and friendly. You cannot beat the location - blocks from Notre Dame and the Seine and close to loads of transportation options.

This place is terrible. The staff is not friendly. It is not as advertised on the website. Also 2€ for a shower is absurd! Just raise the price of the rooms!
Our room at this hotel had only a sink in the room (as expected). The toilet was on the same floor as the room and the showers were on the ground floor. We were charged an additional 2 euro per person per shower, which is ridiculous. Additionally, our room was uncomfortably warm but when we opened the windows the noise from the street outside prevented us from being able to sleep. It was not a comfortable stay. Other than that the facility was clean and as expected.

great location near the latin quarter and notre dame. rooms were basic with no a/c and shared toilets on each floor with only two showers in the lobby for the entire property. i was in paris for 3 nights in the summer and was told i could only take one shower for my entire stay and that additional showers are 4 euros. that is ridiculous considering the paris heat and lack of a/c in the rooms. would only stay here again if it was just for the night b/c the location is so good.
This was a great choice and the location was unbeatable!
It would make me feel better if the cost of taking showers was included in the booking.
Located so close to notre dame cathedral. Very near the underground rail system as well so handy to get wherever you want to go ( we took the rer c line to the Eiffel Tower), couldn't ask for a nicer location at such a decent price. Staff at reception were there 24/7 and were always helpful and friendly, very willing to offer advice on different things to do in Paris! Showers and toilets were clean and never had to queue. I would definitely consider returning here in future!
The hotel is in a great location being only a five minute walk from Notre Dame and two minutes away from a metro station. The rooms are basic and there are only two showers to share between the whole hotel on the ground floor. The WiFi was intermittent and ineffectual and value for money wasn't amazing. Not bad for a few nights in Paris though.
The location was phenomenal, in a nice area, although the bar below was a little noisy, but generally no problem. No showers available unless you wanted to pay, but you did get a sink and the toilets were fair. Staff were pleasant enough. I would recommend only to budget travellers like ourselves, purely for the great location.
The room was not ready when we got there, and we notice that it happened to others costumers. I didn't like the staff. The room was good but we have to pay if we want to take a shower (????????). It was not an expensive bath, but I thought was implicit, if you pay for a room it includes a shower. It was raining and the room is outside, every time I needed to go to the toilet our shower I got wet.
Great location and facilities, the staff were pretty poor though and the fact that you have to pay for showers was weird and a little annoying, but overall it was fine and a good hotel for what it cost.
Hotel Du Commerce was in the perfect location. Right down the road from a beautiful square in which all manner of specialized food stores reside. While the hotel's staircase is narrow and winding and the showers are downstairs, I still loved the hotel. The room was a beautiful shade of blue, with a great view of the Latin quarter. The area felt safe and the staff was friendly. I'd definitely go back.
I wasn't able to stay, but I had a good experience regardless. When I arrived there had been water damage to my room from floods earlier that week, so they booked a room for me at a hotel just around the corner. The new place was slightly more expensive, so Hotel du Commerce covered the difference. So, overall, very good service.
A nice little hostel in a good location, really basic but we didn't stay in the room much so this wasn't a problem!
€2 to use a shower in the lobby is a total turn-off... Room was grubby... For the price and the location it's fine though
Great central location, minutes from Notre Dame. Very clean and well presented hostel, staff are friendly and speak perfect English. Rue Mouffetard is only about 15 mintues away on foot, which is packed with bars/nightlife. Latin Quarter is also about 15 minutes away in the other direction. Only mild issue is there is no lift, so if you're on the 5th floor with luggage you might struggle.
We had ants in our room (lots of them) and the door lets water in when it rains. Showering costs €2 per person per night. Haf to walk outside to washroom, not bad if its not raining.
Location is great for this hotel, right near markets, the river, Notre dame. We walked through a lovely neighborhood party out the front when we arrived and felt very welc
Very friendly and helpful staff. Excellent location but very basic
