Great, clean place to stay right near Assi Ghat. They will set up a transfer for you when you arrive/leave. It's more expensive than just doing it on your own, but on the other hand, the driver knows where to go, which can be a nice guarantee late at night (we arrived at Mughal Sarai, about 20k outside of town, at about 4am). For India, this place is very clean, and has a decent restaurant on the roof. Would recommend.
The good - location, staff and security. The bad - we had ants in the room, spider webs etc. It wasn't clean... and the beds were very hard. Not the best place we stayed in India.
We booked 2 nights and stayed 3. It was a nice and quiet retreat right in the middle of all the chaos that is Varanasi! Staff were lovely and helpful as well. Location is brilliant for Assi Ghat.
We can highly recommend the hotel's location near Assi Ghat. The hotel room (superior double bed) was nice and 100% clean. The only minus was that we had several mosquitoes in our room even though the doors were always closed. They probably entered via the AC and ventilator when they stopped working due to power cuts in the whole area. The staff was very friendly and 100% trustworthy: by mistake we left our camera and money at the breakfast table and they luckily brought it upstairs immediately.
The place is Ok an well located. But the staff is not helpful.
I have mixed feelings about the place. Clearly, they are trying to provide service at a Western standard. When the router burned out, they went out and bought a new one the same day. But it's 40R for a tea and 35R per piece to get laundry done, which is kind of absurd. Perhaps more in line with prices for a higher end place then a 250R a night place, which this is not and, frankly, not really trying to be. Facilities were clean, staff was nice, although English was limited.

Hotel Ganesha had all of the basics that you expect at a hotel. My AC room had a large bed, couch, and table and plenty of space as well as a full bathroom. It was clean and the staff do everything they can to ensure you are comfortable and happy.
Nice place in chaotic Varanasi. The hotel advertises that WiFi is available in all rooms but was only working in the downstairs lobby at the time of my visit. Western breakfast options are limited but are available at a nearby hotel.
