Jak was great and the hostel was exactly what we needed. It's a bit different than your stereotypical hostel, but I was traveling with my girlfriend, so the party atmosphere of being in a busy hostel didn't really matter. The place is small, but our private room (with bathroom en-suite) was perfect. The hostel itself is right in the middle of downtown, which made it quite easy to get pretty much anywhere in the city. I'd highly recommend if all you need is a place to rest after enjoying the city

Very good experience. Owner let me do check in earlier and was so helpful! The room was clean and cozy. If you sre looking for a place in a great location but not fancy, this is the place for you! Near subway, restaurants, bus stop and most touristic areas are walking distance. I do recommend this hostel and would stay there again.

No wifi, but it was a decent place to stay. Had a nice big balcony. Owner was nice and friendly but didn't give us our change back. It also smelled like Chinese food from the restaurant downstairs.

It was only 2 dollars and there wasn't any change, many times ppl don't pay us the exact money, they pay 2-3 dollars less and we ask them to leave in the room, if they forget we don't make it an issue. The Chinese food smell because, before check-in they ate in the same restaurant. Otherwise there is no smell because the kitchen is 100 meters away from the rooms. We have excellent insulation due to the cold weather. Wonder how ppl pick up such trivial issues to write in reviews?

Wonderful place to stay. We all had private rooms with showers and a balcony to sit out on at night. Jak was wonderful showing us great places to visit in Montreal. Great part of town with easy access to rental bikes, restaurants from around the world and the metro.
