Excellent central location very near to Manchester Piccadilly Train Station.. We were a mixed family group up from London for the weekend for a Rugby League event at the Etihad Stadium. It was ideal for our purpose.

A decent breakfast and great location but that's it. The staff were quite distanced while not yet unfriendly. No WiFi access in my room. The most terrible thing was, however, that I couldn't open a window in my tiny room where there was no air circulation. The air was stuffy, hot; it was difficult to sleep. The receptionist claimed it was because of safety reasons but they should at least care about some internal air circulation. If you get such room, the stay is not recommended, otherwiseOK

Very friendly staff and surprised to see the shared shower very clean after checking in at 9pm! The breakfast was also a plus.

The only aspect which was not satisfactory to me was your breakfast. There were a few things which I really missed and which belong to every breakfast. My suggestions: You could offer fresh fruits (for example: a basket with some apples, bananas and kiwis) and some cheese. You could also offer more cereals (especially the typical one with raisins and nuts). And only toast is also a lack of variety. Why not some croissants or some rolls as well ? All in all small changes with a huge effect.

The location is probably the best thing about this hostel - directly opposite the Piccadilly train station. So it's nice and easy to find when you arrive in a city you've never been to before. Downsides were all the dog toys scattered all over the reception floor. Not a great look on arrival. Also the pillow in my bedroom was so lumpy and uncomfortable. However, this was changed without any fuss. Customer service was fine, very basic and to the point. Sometimes there was no one at reception.

Room was smaller than the first time we went (and without a bath) even though we booked much earlier. We would expect an early booking to receive a better room. Female receptionist fantastic, friendly and very helpful.

hotel old british style - that i really love - but with all the modern comforts and at a reasonable price. recommended. the only "negative" thing i could tell is that the wifi didn't reach my room, so to connect my laptop i had to go to the common area... oh, and on the tv i could watch only 3 channels. but the important things were more than good: decent single room with clean sheets and towel, basin with soap and shampoo, indipendent heating, full breakfast included in the price.

The location ist good (close to train station). But the cleanliness in the breakfast room is not accepptable! Also the rooms are very old and over-used. At our second day we've missed all over towels... also after 6 hours we didn't receive only one...

Well, I've stayed there before so knew what to expect. The staff were amazing, but i had to remove fixtures from the wall to hold the windows open as they wouldnt stay. The TV didnt work at all, just static on every channel despite them resetting the system and i got stuck in the lift with only 1 other person. The hotel has the potential to be much more than it is. However, I do know its in a prime location and I would stay there again for that reason.

Great hotel in a brilliant location. Right next to the train station and only 10 minutes to walk to the main shopping streets or oxford road. The bus station is also really close. Rooms were cosy and shared bathrooms clean. they made our beds each day and gave us towels, shampoo etc. Breakfast is amazing! Would definitely stay again next time I visit Manchester.

It's got great shabby style, a great location, and lovely staff, but... there was quite a lot of noise from outside (pub). bring earplugs and it wouldn't be a problem!

Fantastic location right across from the train station. The staff were really helpful and kind, the rooms were basic but kept clean and warm. I would definitely be back.

Well, it's true that is cheap, and central, and clean, and it's definitelly a place to crash (and not anything else, i asure you). Yet, it is very very very poor in terms of appearance. My room was the 103 and it kind of feels like a hole in the wall with a bed and a tv. Sometime it's worth paying a bit more.

The room and other facilities were pretty good, although the little telly looked older than me. 1 min walking distance to train and tramp station is a big plus, also pub next doors very handy for a quick pint before sleep. :)

Great place so easy to get to, off the train station and then a 2 to 5 min walk away from the town. Def come back here, but would not be a good place to stay for a romantic weekend. The bar/hotel beside it is a bit mad as u can not see the walks of the place with marilyn monroe. If some lads going to a football game def go here
