this hotel [not hostel] is charmingly past its glory days with faded 1950s grandeur, and great value for its extremely central location right opposite Piccadilly station. lots of street noise from passing trams in our room, but it was decent and cleaned daily. bathroom a bit worn down. staff helpful and friendly, i would come here again.

The International must have been a grand hotel once, it´s a little faded now but clean and comfortable. The first night I was there I was kept awake by noise from the street outside, but they were quite happy to move me to another room. The hotel has a unique character with hundreds of photos of film stars on the walls, and often a couple of friendly dogs in the foyer. Good value for money - the cost includes full English breakfast.

The Hotel International is centrally located across the street from Manchester Piccadilly Railway Station, and a couple of minutes walk from the nearby 'gay village' of Canal Street. This old building has charm and is well maintained. It is gay friendly, and the staff are most courteous, polite and helpful. Breakfast is English style and has ample servings. The room I was in was quite spacious, although the bathroom was a tight squeeze, but then who wants to be in the bathroom for long!
