Positive issues: the view of Taj Mahal Negative issues: expensive, very rude staff, low quality mattress, very low internet, no breakfast, rooftop restaurant is not a restaurant (very bad infrastructure), shower doesn't work well and the heater was not working, the room was very dirty. I definitely don't recommend this "hotel". You can have a nice view of Taj Mahal in several restaurants.
The staff here was amazing. Attentive, friendly, respectful. Even though Agra could be frustrating with the touts and scams, this hotel was a safe haven. The room was peaceful and clean enough (although sheets and towels still greyish, had stains). The rooftop has one of the best views of the taj mahal and the location is in the heart of everything. Would stay again.
We booked this place explicitly because it was featured on Lonely Planet. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Our train was late but we were still picked up by a tuk tuk driver hired by the hotel. However, our good experience ends there. We walked into our room and found we had no top sheet, just a single mattress cover over the two joined beds, the room was damp and musty, and the duvets we did receive smelled like mold. We had to ask for towels, new blankets, toilet paper, and soap.

The shower was not hot in winter. We could not see Taj Mahal because of fog.
The owners were extremely helpful and asked how my experience had been thus far in India, offered me a lot of advise since I was traveling alone. I definitely recommend this hotel for single female travelers. The food was decent and the view of te Taj from the restaurant was just wonderful. Overall it was a very pleasant and relaxing place to retreat to when feeling overwhelmed by Agra. There is hot water too but it didn't last for too long maybe 5 mins.
Once you booked, they will send you an email to fill out all the "mandatory info." before arrival about all the guests' name / age /country /mobile/coming from/type of transport/train no./arrival time to evaluate you guys or they said to "help us serve you our best" ! The young manager warned/intimidated us several times not to go or even believe other travel agencies nearby except he recommended the only one which seems like an internet cafe. The linen wasn't clean, but perfect location!
