The hotel was good. The only unnerving thing that happened was that I tried to use the phone in my room to call 112, the emergency number, and the phone did not work, and reception was closed. Luckily everything turned out ok, but if they are going to put phones in the rooms, they should at least be useful in emergencies.
Cheap place to stay, but almost no contact between staff and guests or opportunities to socialize.
We stayed in a private room. While we were sleeping, a party across the street got started and lasted all the night with loud noises. There was no one at the reception we could call and ask for help to, so it was impossible to sleep. Also, the cleaning was not sufficient and the shower was very old.
The phrase 'beggars can't be choosers' sums up this stay perfectly - your money just doesn't seem to go as far in Strasbourg as it does in other cities. A bizarre "hotel" with no reception, poor facilities and strange decor. However, it's a place to rest your head and is close to the train station, so it does exactly what it should do I suppose. Do not expect a hotel that is in keeping with the charm and elegance of Strasbourg!
Nice location, clean, etc.
