This hotel was perfect, our room was cleaned every day and the staff were so friendly, providing us with advice and a french power adaptor when we didn't have one. The location is fantastic. The area is not touristy at all, a god-send in Paris. Full of great food and located near Gare du Nord, we had no issues at all and we stayed for six days. I'm so glad I ignored the bad reviews of this hotel, so clearly written by amateurs with no money to spend on hotels- who want someone to blame for it!

Horrible Hotel. Stained Towels, stinky bedrooms and a bathroom that was clean like a metro's bathroom. could'nt resist more than 40 minutes. Went away and searched for another place to stay!

A good, cheap hotel for people visiting Paris. Very simple, but it provides you with all of the basics. Great location next to the two biggest train stations and friendly/helpful staff. Would stay there again.

First off, the Hostel is not terrible. However, for what I paid, I should have spent a little extra for a nicer place. The location is great. Right around the corner from a major metro stop. But it is old and grungy. It needs to be fixed up a bit. It is also easy to have someone just walk into you room. This is because you leave your key at the hostel behind the desk (which is only manned half the time) so someone can reach over and grab it. But it is a hostel, and it does the job.

There was black mold on the walls in our room, the room was incredibly humid and smelly, there was hair all over the bedsheets. I don't think the bedsheets had been changed prior to us coming in to the room. The bathroom was also incredibly dirty and the showerhead had some sort of gunk on it that also had hair in it. We literally rolled out our sleeping bags on the bed and slept in our clothes.

You get what you pay for. This is a very simple hotel and be prepared to walk up a lot of stairs, but it is in a great location - about a minutes walk from Gare du L'Est - and is fine if you are planning to spend most of your time sightseeing anyway. The staff spoke good english and were happy to look after our suitcases when we arrived too early, the bathroom was fine and the beds were comfortable enough.

Staff were friendly - 24 hr reception. Wifi only available in the lobby with only 4 seats and limited space - so its very awkward accessing the internet. However, very close to one of the main stations - Gare d'Est. Some main attractions are within walking distance of less an hour. Close to supermarket + laundry. While there are no kitchen facilities, staff were kind enough to microwave on your behalf. Hot water, clean bathroom, all you need if you're a budget traveller and are not precious.

The staff was very good, i got sick and they were very very helpful and kind. The location was also very good,it is only a few meters from one of the biggest train and subway stations in Paris, and this was very helpful. But it is a small and old hostel, don't expect much. It was clean, but the room and the bathroom were very very small and everything was narrow. I would say that if you go there only to sleep and the rest of the day you're out, it's fine.

Nothing fancy, but the rooms were clean, wireless internet access was provided in the lobby, and the staff were polite. It's located a bit far from many of the tourist attractions, but the metro is easy to use and the distance is walkable. Overall, it was a good value for the money and is an ideal place for those on a tight budget.

This is good, ordinary, normal hotel with all the basics that you need. In our case, having our own private bathroom and shower was definitely a plus. The staff is there 24 hours and have in general good service (we left the luggage there some hours before check-in and also after check-out without any problem). The hotel is not really in the center of paris but there is a metro station within 5 minutes walk and then a metro to the city center is only about 10 minutes.

A friend and I stayed in Hotel Le Terrage for a week or so in fall of '11 and were very satisfied with everything. The men at the desk hurried out to the front desk whenever we entered the lobby and were always friendly. The room was clean and spacious, the bathroom as well. A good hostel.

The Staff couldn't figure out how much we owned them and hardly knew how to do any math, the bathroom was really dirty and the bedroom as well...the only good thing is that it is really close to a metro station and a great pizza and pasta restaurant!

For anyone looking for a place just to sleep with a low budget is the perfect place. We were well attended and the room was clean, and always with hot shower and clean all days.Only flaw ,thin walls, heard all of the rooms next door. Even seem that had people who lived there in the hotel. The hotel is quite close to Gare de l'Est which(total advantage!). But for those who want to walk in paris i can confirm that it can reach the most interesting sites from the hotel. i would repeat the hotel!
