Great place away from everything. Quiet and clean. Staff was so helpful! The kitchen helped me save money by cooking myself! Wifi could be better but I didnt pick this place to stay online. I picked it for everything else it offered. I will visit again!

A nice quiet place that is a short walk to all the action, but far enough away to get a good sleep. thanks for a great stay.

A little bit of a hike to the beach & "downtown" but overall, very pleasant. The air conditioner didn't work very well in the room.

I had a fantastic time at Mahayana hotel! A great value and nice, relaxing stay within the town of Tamarindo. The hotel is a short walk from the beach, and for my purposes, just the right distance away from the touristy shops and people trying to sell you trinkets. The rooms are ample-sized and all face a central courtyard area with a small pool and kitchen (which I used often after visiting the SuperCompro). At night the hostel is quiet, as people tended not to gather in the courtyard.

Very clean, and Cecile was great! I had a hard time finding the place, but, when we called her, Cecile came on her bike to guide us. About a 5 minute walk from the beach, clean, and very nice staff. I would definitely stay again!

Awesome owners! My stay was lots of fun. There is a nice and chill atmosphere. Good for surfing in the day or going to the beach and chilling at night. The hostel has TV, internet and a pool table to chill at night. Stephane from Canada

I usually never leave reviews because a hostel is just a hostel. (no expectations, take achance) BUT THIS PLACE (which is renamed so look up new name , was the best hostel. Our hostess greeted us, provided us with towels, showers were hot, clean and there was actually pressure. It was like a HOTEL(nice one) There is a kitchenette area which was also impeccable!! GReat job to new owner from France. She has high standards and great repoire with all of the guests!! LOcation good too

We were fortunate enough to come across the idyllic place at Hotel Mahayana and stay over Christmas. It is very quiet so you get a good nights sleep but it is close enough for a ten minute stroll to the beach, bars and restaurants. The rooms were spotless and cleaned daily. The use of the well equipped kitchen was nice to have and a small fridge is in your room to keep your water and wine nice and cool!! The jacuzzi was great for an afternoon dip and cool off. Cecile the owner was extremely nice and very fr
