Beautyful little Hotel right in the old town, during winter for a backpacker's budget. Great breakfast, spacious and cosy rooms... all my expectations are exceeded!
Situated in the heart of the old town the location is just perfect! It was easy to reach and also to have break in the middle of the day, when your shoes got wet and you had to get those dry. We had the 5th floor all to ourselves and there was plenty of space for 3 people. It was a bit cold and we had to put the extra heaters on. Breakfast was nice, especially when you're used to eat a real breakfast in the morning with eggs and fresh fruits. The staff was helpful and the atmosphere peaceful.
Absolutely the best place to stay. The hotel is right across from the galleria and two blocks from the old town center. Far enough away to avoid the late night partiers, close enough to be one if desired. Being able to walk across a street and be in a four story high end galleria with a grocery store is great. The room I had (26) was wood floor with high ceilings and a balconey. Marble floor and koi ponds in the common area. 5 star accomadations for a 3 star price.
The Man-Tess is excellently situated -- in the old town, but not so far in that you have to drag your luggage over the cobbled streets for more than a couple of minutes. The rooms naturally are not quite as shown, but are reasonably large. The lighting could use improvement. The major and somewhat odd drawback is that there is no hot water. At best, after letting the tap run for five to ten minutes (a major waste of water), it is tepid.
