We stayed in a downstairs double room with ensuite with a very good communal kitchen just outside the door. Hotel is in a good location but can be very noisy at night with local bar music. Also the screen doors upstairs continually banging shut can be annoying. We had no hot water initially and it took 36 hours to get it fixed. Overall an ok stay.

Given the cost of this hotel I don\'t expect too much, but I do expect at least something! Ceiling fans were all furry and dusty, we cleaned them ourselves! Floors not clean. In 3 days no-one came to empty the toilet paper garbage, or do anything else. The room was basically a windowless bunker. I would recommend paying a bit more to get a better place.

This place made our stay on Isla Mujeres well worth it. It is very well priced and located, the ladies who operate it were friendly and helpful. We had a double room which had everything we needed and was spotlessly clean. We only stayed one night so were mostly out exploring, but had we stayed longer the shared balcony area would have made a great spot to relax for a beer. There are nice places nearby for breakfast, and it's a very short walk to the beach and busier restaurant areas. Recommend.

We stayed at Hotel Maria del Pilar for two nights in February, 2012 and would definitely stay there again and hopefully for longer. It is in a perfect location. Close to restaurants, shopping and beaches but quiet and private. Be aware when you check in that they require a 500 MXN deposit which we got back with no problems but it was money out of our pocket while on the island. The closest ATM however was a short two block walk in a nice grocery store also with no problems.

I enjoyed a lot my stay in Maria del Pilar hotel. It's very close to the north beach and downtown in Islas Mujeres. If you want to cook you can in the commun terrasse and you have a private fridge in your room. It's very economic if you go there with a friend or your girl/boyfriend. The staff is cool, speaking english and spanish. I recommend it.

Good, clean room, nice to have kitchen facilities. Wifi worked well. Only negative thing was noise from nearby bars in the evenings.
