Although the hotel looked like it was in decent condition from the outside and even from the communal room in the upstairs, our room was one of the dirtiest I have ever seen. There were short dark hairs on the bed, bugs on the floor and stains on the sheets. The room was tiny (which we expected because of the low price) but we had to check out after the first night because we genuinely felt like we would acquire something from staying there. The location and price were good, but not worth it.

A very comfortable stay, even so we booked for a further 2 nights. We are travelling with a 3 year old and found the room to be fine and a good size.
The rooms are tiny. The double bed is tiny. Our rooms had wholes in the wall above the door, so we could enjoy all the noises from outside and we could welcome all the mosquitos coming into our room. I don't know how this Hostel got such a high rating. We were very disappointed.
Cheaper than most Staff are nice Rooms are tinnnnny On the right street with all the backpacker action Wifi only downstairs Kitchen pretty groos But for the price not tooo bad
Excellent!!! Hotel Marlin is located in a perfect section of Cartagena and is managed by a very knowledgeable group of people. Our original plan was to stay at Hotel Marlin for 3 days but we ended up staying an additional 4 days for a total of one week. Very clean, the rooms are big, Air Con is COLD...which you need in a tropical environment like Cartagena, literally next door to a very cool bar and across the street from a good Mexican restaurant. Stay at Hostel Marlin....you'll love it!!!
