Very clean, friendly and informative couple who own it, however one big negative was the WIFI didn't work for my room mate and I, and I myself was heavily relying on it. So I wasn't very happy about that. Apart from that the room was always very warm, spotlessly clean and right next to the bus to get to Venice island.

the hotel was disastrous. I didn't feel welcome once I checked in.Besides, its actually scary staying there. the location is terrible, though it is nearby the mestre station, all the way there i wondered were the hell did i book!!! the hospitality is terrible, and i think the bed had flees because i got all itchy after my stay. i really dont recomend your stay.

Hotel Martello was great. The staff was informative and told us a great place to go where there weren't as many tourists and that was my favorite part of the trip! Go to Burano! They give you great, easy-to-follow directions and information about getting about the city. Ask them what's worth seeing! To get to Venezia center you have to take a train or a bus, but it's not difficult to do, and they come frequently enough. We ate breakfast in the station as we were waiting for the train. Thanks!

We were advice that the breakfast cost was not include in the room price, but nobody told us that we need a reservation, we realized that in the morning when we try to have breakfast. The facilities were ok, and the location is good just a few blocks from Mestre station

I was very disappointed that the hotel refused to apply the deposit that I paid to the reservation sitewhen I made the booking. The hotel manager said that deposits don't concern her 'you paid that to the internet booking site, not me' is what she told me.....

Best budget option or Venice, so close to transport links and very clean - huge and comfortable rooms. Couldn't ask for more.

The owner was very helpful. Close to the train station easy walking distance. Bathrooms were spotless. Rooms were very nice. Much better to stay here than in the centre, We were watching everyone in the centre trying to walk around with luggage trying to find their hotel- all hopelessly lost. Here is much better at least this way when you are walking around the islands lost you wont have your luggage with you!

Fantastic hosts - gave great directions for bus to/from Venice (train was so obvious that no directions are needed). Nice location just a couple blocks from the train, and for the price why bother staying in Venice? Good stay - recommended!

Not only it's convenient to go to Venice island, but also the it's a great place itself. Friendly staff. I think it's better than most hotels on Venice island.

The perfect place to visit Venice on a budget! We spent much more on this hotel than any other accomodation in our 30-day European trip, but I can say that it was well worth the price. We're used to backpacker hostels, but Hotel Martello offers a great hotel experience, especially for the price when compared to hostels on the island. Transportation to the island is extremely simple and we wouldn't have done it any other way. Thanks!

Hotel Martello is a family run hotel, and is very clean and tidy. It is located in Marghera, so it takes only ten minutes by bus or train to get to Venice. The trains run until half past midnight, and after that you can take night buses from Piazzale Roma, which run every hour. It is located in a quiet neighborhood. The staff and the owners are extremely helpful, so if you need anything don't hesitate to ask. Anyway, the next time I visit Venice, I will stay here! Highly recommended!!!!!

Great place to stay. It is one the main land next to Venice, so at first we were really concerned about travel time and actually getting to Venice. No problem what so ever. After checking in the lady in charge told us where to buy bus and train tickets, where to get on and off the bus, when to push the stop request button on the bus and where banks, laundry, and grocery services could be found. It was great. She answered all of our questions and was really friendly.

Very nice hotel. Clean, nice host and great location if you can't stay right in Venice. From this hotel, you can take a bus only a few blocks away and get to Venice in 10-15 minutes. Remember this is a hotel, so you won't find the fun atmosphere of some hostels. The neighbourhood is pretty quiet, so not much to do nearby in the night. It's definitely a great option for a visit to Venice.

it is really a hotel, but with the price of a hostel. Going into venice is not a hassle from here. good for couples ! but if u want to taste some night feel in venice and enjoy the sunrise, you may really want to stay inside venice !
