Very nice hostel and nice people. While its on the mainland, it\'s less than a 5 minute walk to the bus stop - with service about every 10 minutes to Venice. The ride is also about 10 minutes, so very convenient. Plus they have free wifi-a great bonus!

Cozy little hotel located a short bus ride out of central Venice. Offers clean and comfortable rooms at affordable prices. Owner is very helpful, giving the layout of what Venice has to offer. If coming to Venice by train/bus, be sure to get off at the MESTRE stop as opposed to the central Venice station as the hotel is a few minutes walk from the Mestre station (and across the water from the central station). Very good hotel at an affordable cost that provides a great Venice experience.

Hotel Martello was way above our expectations. It's only 5 minutes walking distance from the train station where you can catch trains to Venice (5 minutes)d. The owner is a fantastic lady who answers to every enquiry. Our room (for three people) was exceptionally clean and well equipped, fresh bedding, clean bathroom facilities, telly, everything looked brand new and they id the cleaning and changing towels every day! What a fantastic hotel, lovely quiet atmosphere, pleasant people and location!

Good spot for a low budget stay, perfectly clean and servicable. The lady owner is very matter of fact but helpful with directions and local knowledge when asked. There are plenty of buses to quickly trip into Venice. A short walk away are some very good restaurants and bars which are much more friendly and cheaper than in Venice so usually I came back in the evening to eat on the mainland close to the motel.

Nice 2-star hotel very near to Mestre train station, with a good, cheap, value-for-money authentic Italian restaurant nearby.

This was a very nice hotel, small but inviting. On arrival the staff was very helpful in explaining where to go and what to do in Venezia. The room was excellent.

Out of Venice but excellent location, just 10 minutes from central Venezia and very good connections. Very helpful people and nice hotel.

This place is located in Marghera, about a ten minute walk from mestre station. It's an easy bus ride to the island. It was nice and clean but fairly expensive (even for mainland Venice). Would have been nice if there was a breakfast included. The staff was awesome, told me exactly how to get where I wanted to go, what I should I see, how long it would take, etc.

For the price, breakfast should be included. Especially since my room didn't have a kitchen or even a fridge. I did not like that the "front desk" wasn't at the front...it was upstairs. The whole thing seems to be run by 1 lady so I felt like a pain if I needed something. Basically you just get keys and never see anyone until you check out. It was very clean. Wifi was free and worked great. I don't recommend for hostel goers, but it's a cheap hotel for those looking for a step up!

Since the price was so low we had pretty low expectations, but Hotel Martello far exceeded them. The location was *very* convenient, considering it's outside of Venice proper, and the staff (in fact, I think it was the owner) was extremely helpful. It's definitely not glamorous, but our room was comfortable and in good order, with a full shower and heat. You get a lot for your money.

Very clean, friendly and informative couple who own it, however one big negative was the WIFI didn't work for my room mate and I, and I myself was heavily relying on it. So I wasn't very happy about that. Apart from that the room was always very warm, spotlessly clean and right next to the bus to get to Venice island.
