I was a student traveling alone and I though Hotel Melita was perfect for me. It's not too expensive, breakfast is included, and is located a short walk away from the three most useful Metro lines in Istanbul

This hotel provided a comfortable stay for one night however for an extended stay in Istanbul, the room was far too small and location inconvenient to see the main attractions in Istanbul. The staff were not as hospitable as in other places we have stayed in Turkey.

Located near metro station(aksaray) with direct line to bus station(otogar) and airport(ataturk). And not far away from historical sity center.

For the price it is a decent hotel. Note that the address provided for the hotel is wrong. It is located very close to Askaray tram stop (and not Sirkeci). So if you are coming in from the airport, plan to take the tram to Askaray and then you can walk to the hotel (best to print out a Google map)
