Dirty smelly unsafe place. Way over priced. Over 900 euro for 4 people over three nights.. With dirty bathrooms ( showers smelt like urine. Just noteworthy of a visit, let my dog live there.. Left after 2 nights. As we asked for a refund the day we arrived and then again on second day all we got offed was to move rooms. Stairs are totally unsafe lawsuit waiting to happen.. Dodgy workers cleaner was going into the rooms even when they were not booking out, he would say oh you check out, No sorry.

I read review before I stayed about the stairs but didn't believe them until I climbed them!!! they really were very steep and narrow, but so are all the stairs in Amsterdam! So after 4 days you being to love them. at the end of a night out you will fear climbing them :) hint: get on all fours! Its a 10min

We stayed over queens day and roomed in a 4 person dorm. The staff were helpful and friendly. The location was great. Not the nicest hostel in decor, but met our needs. No lockers in room though. Just a storage room with a lock. Bring luggage locks. Wifi was good.

Hostel isn't that bad if you search a place to stay very, very close to the center. It's only one street to Dam Square, right next to the Magna Plaza. Staff is very friendly and they offer free WiFi. The bathrooms aren't that good, but it's ok if you search a place just to stay at. My 8-dorm-room was ok. Maybe little dark, but for sleeping it was a good and clean place. Would go there again and hope for not snoring drommates ;) Be aware that they want to charge you 5% for using the creditcard!

Absolutely nothing to complain! Really a 'value for money'. Room was small (4 bed dorm), and the bunk beds were ok at best. Rooms and toilet/shower were clean.. Nice and helpful staff. Nice minimarket/restaurant downstairs. Excellent location, just a stroll from central station and red lights. If digging hard enough, I could mention about the stairs. My room was in 4th floor and the stairs were Really Steep. So not for elder or people with disabilities and/or weak heart... =)

It was a very tiny hostel barely could move or leave your items anywhere. It also had a weird stench so once I left all my clothes smelled like that hostel too. Its very dark so it makes it more unpleasant .

The location is really good. Close to the Square, the Red Light District, awesome coffee shops, supermarket, tram station, souvenir shops as well as Amsterdam Centraal. Rooms are clean. There isn't thaaaat much space inside, but don't worry, nothing you can't handle. There was a TV in the room we lived in, that provided a great entertainment though we got a private room. Toilet is a little small, shower room is spacious. The staffs were really friendly and helpful. Would return again.

Perfect located right in the middle between the Dam and the Centraal Station. The rooms are quite small as well as the stairs, but I guess that's a common characteristic in those old houses in Amsterdam. The staff was great and very helpful giving all kinds of tips and indications, with special regards to Joao, the guy working on the reception during the afternoon.

This was a very good trip. The hostel was clean and well-placed. 9€/night is a really good value for money.

Most of the staff is nice but there was a guy who mostly did night shifts at the reception who was always agressive in the words he used to say things to guests. I don't know his name I only remember he is thin and asian, for example the days the house was full and someone would come in asking for a room he would just shout them that "WE ARE FULL" instead of the more friendly "I am sorry but I can not offer you a room because we are full".

Many of the comments we read prior to booking were disappointed with the lack of common area, and saying the size of room being too small. Yes, both of these are true but we did not mind at all. We did not spend any time really at the hostel. There is a microwave that you can use as guests, which we found convenient. It would be nice if the washrooms were cleaned more often than once a day. The staff was wicked nice!! We enjoyed our stay here and would return most definitely!

A nice hostel to stay in, nothing exceptional about it, but clean and very well located near the train station and the main square of Amsterdam.
