Hotel New Bengal Reviews

In general it is a good option if you want to be close to the city center - just a 5 min walk to the train station where the center begins, we didn't need to use any taxi. And also quite clean rooms and good safety. But the hotel is a bit too expensive for what it has to offer - the general atmosphere isn't very relaxing and you can hear a lot of traffic noise in the night. Also we had hot water only the first day - somehow it magically disappeared and we had to take cold shower every day.

This hotel was absolutely disgusting - even by India's standards. We had bedbugs - which the staff were not even remotely phased by when we told them. Our room was outrageously expensive for what it was - and they had the gall to add on additional charges after we paid. We also paid for some washing to be done - they left holes in some of our clothes - and still insisted on us paying for it! We encountered several other people in the hotel that were having similar issues - don't stay here!!!

I liked my stay in New Benghal Hotel. It is a nice place, close to Crowford Market and Victoria Train Station. The WiFi-connection and the little balcony are definitely a plus. My room could need a refreshing of the walls, but I didn't mind as it was the cheapest I could get in Mumbai. The staff was very friendly. Just the breakfast could be better. Maybe one more kind of cereals and the jam is far too sweet.
