A hostel that seems to be run by an older couple. Staff is nice and helpful although they hardly speak any English. Don't expect them to know what Hostelworld is or that you might have reserved a room via Internet.
Although location is not particularly good, taxis in the city are very cheap, so it is really easy to go anywhere. Very well treated by Sra. Elba. The motorcycle cab is a must. If staying in Ica, do not purchase tours to the bodegas and Huacachina through travel agencies (much more expensive), for it is very easy and cheaper to use the local cabs.
This was the first time I was disappointed by hostelworld recommendations. I don´t know why this hotel got quite good comments, well I stayed in a very smelly room, the TV didn´t work and the hotel is outside the city of Ica. Breakfast is not even included in the price. Better look for something else!
The lady in charge makes this place! She was extremely helpful in telling us what was around and how much we should pay for taxis to various places.

The owners of this hostel make up for everything else. Very helpful with booking trips etc, even made us breakfast early so we could go on a trip. However the hostel is massively outdated, no one else staying here made for a uneventful stay and there was no restaurant to serve food. We had to eat in a dodgy place up the road by recommendation. Rooms were dated and showers not very clean.
Weird atmosphere in the hotel. Poor breakfast. Small room but clean. After spending 2 hours in Huacachina, there is nothing to do in Ica. So we went to the cinema !And Huacachina is not as cool as you can see on internet. It's a dirty place.
the owners were very nice. I know they are trying to improve the hotel but it is definitely in a transitional phase and might be ahead of them. There was basically no water for most of our stay. Some rooms have been redone and are better than others, we ended up in newer rooms because they had more water ( a trickle). There was scafolding up by our intial rooms and windows didn't lock. The rooftop is pretty dated, lights don't work... You need to take cabs to most places
