Nothing to complain about Hotel Palacio. I booked 2 nonsequential nights there. It's unbelievably cheap, is very clean, has free wifi, is very conveniently located, staff is super friendly. Maybe the only con I could find was the absence of breakfast. It's in an old building, with old furniture. I found the matresses very good. I stayed at the 6th floor, my room had a huge balcony from where I could see the port, spot Teatro Solis and Plaza Independencia.

great/convenient location just inside the old city. clean, comfortable, spacious room and bathroom. decent wifi (on third floor). helpful/friendly staff (spanish only, but we're not fluent and we were able to arrange a taxi to the airport just fine).

very, very, very friendly staff! the location is perfect both for the old town and the bars. very clean as well. the downside - it's a hotel, not a hostel after all - so you wouldn't expect much fun and the breakfast was not included. anyway it was definitely worth the money!

Very nice place to stay, great price and location. I'd reccommend it better for couples and families than backpackers... Even though, it's close to the main bars street in the most touristic area in Montevideo, so still worths it.
