The staff is friendly and helpful, the location is ok, just within a walking distance from Gare d´lest and Gare du Nord, but the hostel is terribly dirty... I stayed there for 3 nights, the floors were already dirty, and the rooms were never vaccummed. There was a lot of hair and dust balls everywhere... It was even difficult to have some extra toilet paper... Unfortunately, it was a terrible stay.

The place smelt of heavy mold! In the bathroom, there was thick mold on the walls and ceiling. When I first came to enter my room, it was already open, which I thought was really weird and uncomfortable. The staff didn't speak any English, and since my French was very rusty, it made it difficult to talk about the hotel. And I also didn't like that you had to leave the key everytime you left the building. Kind of a dodgy neighborhood as well. So I didn't sleep there, just had my stuff there.

The location of the Hotel Magenta is okay, near enough the center of Paris. However, I would definitely NOT recommend this hotel to anyone at all. It was dark, dirty, and very very cold. There was no heating in the room and clearly it had not been cleaned before we arrived. Staff were not helpful. It was an overall dreadful experience. It is a shame, because the hotel could be great if taken more care of.

This was the worst hostel/hotel I've ever stayed in. Staff were rude and v. unhelpful, room wasn't ready by the afternoon. No baggage locker. No receipts were given. The hotel didn't accept credit cards - note! Hotelworld, make this fact CLEAR!!! The room was upstairs again, but quiet. However, the shower had no light - no light, so you couldn't see. The whole room lacked a single electrical socket, so you couldn't charge anything. The bathroom was dirty and the room smelled poorly.

the staff was wonderful and I loved the character of the old building! my only complaint is about cleanliness. I don't know why there was hair and flecks of dirt in my sheets starting the day I arrived, but I don't imagine it would be too difficult to place clean sheets on the beds. I was also VERY allergic to the bedding. I broke out in hives (over 200) where my skin had touched the sheets, including my face. I was miserable, but overall I had a wonderful time and enjoyed my stay.

ME AND MY FRIENDS GOT SCABIES AT THIS HOTEL! Do I need to say anything else???? The hotel was disgusting, everything was dirty, there was no pillowcase on my pillow. And it was full of someone else's hair! That was the worst!! The bathroom, it's better if i don't mention. The drain was clogged, disgusting! The security is very poor in my opinion. We left at morning, and when we came back at night all they asked was the number of the room, and gave us the keys (that you have to leave there).

It's a cheap hotel, relatively close to the center, but in a part of Paris with many homeless people and thus dirty streets and subway. In the rooms everything looks like from WW1 - floor, walls, windows, doors, bathroom, furniture (if any) - everything is old and broken. The towels were dirty, luckily we were bringing our own :). The bed covers and the blankets were really old and nasty.

The hotel didn't have a kitchen which is essential, neither a very small one. So I wanted to buy refrigerated food or to cook a meal or even a breakfast, I couldn't. The room quality was very poor, the floor was weird. The ad said 4 beds room, but there was 2 single and one double bed. The lights inside the room were very bad quality.

Hotel Magenta is very dirty, theres no wifi as they say on the webside,we shortened our stay in Paris and had problems with owner, who didnt want to give us money back.If I wont have friend in Paris, who called him and managed everything,he wouldnt give us a cent.Very rude person. Also they say on webside theres parking, thats true but you have to pay 50euros/day.I definitely dont suggest to stay in this hotel,it totally spoiled my vacation!!!

Above all, you get what you pay for. The hotel is very basic -- just a place to sleep and keep your stuff. Considering the location and the price, however, I could hardly ask for better. Americans used to large posh rooms may feel uncomfortable, but for students looking to bum around the city the place is perfect. 24 hour concierge, no curfew, and close location to metro lines and great nightlife.
