I recently visited India for first time ,and really was not sure what to expect . The hostel more than lived up expectations and has a value for money .The hotel is situated near the market area and walking distance from metro station .5 star for ishaan and his staff , I will surely come back.

When asked for directions to the only official tourism office, staff member detoured us to someone who was running a questionable operation and we had to backtrack for an hour. No hot water in room. No one watching bags left near front desk after checkout. But location is perfect. Rail station just down road and metro close as well.

We were actually placed across the street in the Hotel Shelton, a pricier hotel, but we still paid the advertised rates. The Hotel Shelton is lovely, however it can be quite noisy in the morning. Room was fine, normal Indian room, no complaints there. My biggest complaint was that you had to pay for wifi (40rs per hour) or pay to use their computer (20rs per hour). However, Hotel Payal let us come over and use their free wifi.

Us three women really enjoyed our stay here. It is located right in the heart of the main market which is great for shopping. The staff were great and super helpful. If you have the chance to meet Ishan, he will make your stay in Delhi much easier and much more fun! The rooms are small, but that's India. The bathrooms were actually quite nice for India as well. Would definitely stay there again next time I'm in Delhi!

I arrived in the night.Hotel Payal was full but staff put me at hotel Shelton opposite to Payal. Room was not than clean. The first room I was proposed, the door was broken and I had to insist to change of room. Staff was nice though. Pick-up at the airport was ok.

cons Prices are higher than in the neighboring street, 100 meters away. Poor interior. They gave us a room with a wet bed. also tried to raise the price above that which is specified in the armor. There is a Wi fi, but it only works sometimes. pros Located right on Main Bazaar Street . Wi fi even so sometimes works. final opinion The next time I will take the hotel to the nearby street.

Wow!!!!! That is what I felt , what a good start to my India Holiday. All that people said about the staff at hotel payal is true, ishan is an excellent guide for planning travels and gave me such an economical price for the Golden Triangle Tour. The Hostel is in a very friendly location, . I had booked one night, but stayed three. They even helped me book trains for my further journey at min price.would definatly reccomend to everyone

One of the dodgiest hostels I stayed in India. There are better ones in the main bazaar area so I wouldn't (and I didn't) go there again.

location is excillent, staff are good too Was an excellent place to start my trip in delhi. My plane was delayed but the airport pick-up was still there when I arrived very late. ishan , is a quietly spoken & very polite man who went out of his way to help me out with booking onwards tickets etc, and was happy to patiently sit and talk about any advice about travelling in India I queried about. The hostel is basic but is clean & has a welcoming atmosphere.

Hotel Payal is convenient when looking for a cheap and central place in Dehli, but some rooms are dirty and noisy. The staff let me sleep in a temporary room when I arrived in the early morning, which was nice.

Do NOT stay here. The place was FILTHY. I have traveled all around the world, and I am definitely not a high maintenance person, but the blanket was covered in dirt, the sheets were also dirty, the toilet didn't work, the water shut off my last day, the bathroom smelled like a sewer, and I believe you can stay in much cleaner places for less money. Seriously, it is a rip off. Avoid at all costs.

We didn't actually stay at Hotel Payal, they gave our room away so they moved us across the street to Hotel Sheraton. The room we stayed in was nice and the staff at Payal were also nice, but be aware that this may also happen to you.

well i did not tried other places in the main bazar (if u can dont stay in the region) but considering everything is a ok place.nothing special. i stayed 4 days and was too much. linens and pillow are the usual dirty that u should get used if are traveling cheap in india (i recommend a sleeping bag or some other barrier). the owner and what i think is his son can be kind enough. other workers of the hotel barely speaks english (just arrived from sri lanka). bathroom was in good condition. although i arrived

I stayed in the single room and the dorm, single room is quite nice and neet, could be a bit small for people with a lot of luggage. Dorm was quite tight so if you wanna meet people then you should check it out! but as mentioned, not much space if you have a lot of stuff. Very good location and nice staff. gonna come back for sure.

We took a 9 days tour around Rajasthan with Isham in Hotel Payal. He help us a lot and the tour provided was great. I definitely recommend him for a tour. We actually stayed in a hotel in front of Hotel Payal because they were full but the room they gave us was great. Good value for price.
