although the hostel was not in the main city of venice, it's only a 5 min walk to the train station (Venice Mestre) from which it is really convenient to get into Venice by train (costs 1.20 euro oneway) rooms are small but comfortable. it's a hotel, so don't expect a common area to hang out. they charge for wifi. staff are brusque and won't tell u more about venice beyond providing you with a map

Make sure that you realized that the place is located in the main island. you need to get a train to go to Venice. The place is close to restaurants that are very affordable.

The hotel staff seemed annoyed when we had questions and were not much help. Although this is outside of Venice the hotel is right next to the bus stop and train station that both take you across the water to Venice. The room was very small for a three bed and our shower flooded out bathroom.

It was very far from the city center. It was easy to take a 15-20 min bus to the city. It is NOT walking distance. Taxis were very expensive. It was a very nice hotel/hostel though.

This place is just great in every way. It is v close to train and buses to Venice, only 20 and 10 mins respectively. The staff are excellent, and speak v good English. Not a lot of good places to eat nearby but I did find the menu at the nearby Plaza (part of hotel) excellent and not expensive. Very safe to walk round at night, tho maybe best not to linger in park too long. Breakfast would rival any 4 star hotel. I recommend it to anyone.
