Nice and close to the Taj Mahal but don't expect to see it at sunrise, it doesn't open until 7 or so. Bathrooms were a tad small but sufficient for India.
Booked on hostel world.com I arrived at 4 to check in and said I did not have a room. Even though I pre paid and had confirmation number. They said come back at 7:30 and they might have room. Came back and they said to wait Til 10:30. Keep in mind I had not slept for awhile and was getting up early for the Taj sunrise. The room was a mess and floor wet. Looks like they kicked an Indian family out for me. It was noisy and never slept. Asked for a discount and nothing. Horrible place.
This is a great hotel! And great price! The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The location is literally a 5 minute walk from the Taj Mahal and there are lots of auto rickshaws on the street which can quickly take you to the other sites. The room was cozy and the bathroom/shower was clean. It had everything that we needed, including clean sheets and towels. A proper hotel. The restaurant on the first floor was not very good, but there are plenty of good restaurants around the hotel.

no atmosphere what so ever but it has a nice restaurant. the wife only works at the reception. the terrace is not very well kept, so it wasn't fun to be there. good if you're spending one night.
I was a bit disappointed by Hotel Rashmi. The staff were not very welcoming and were not at all pleased or helpful when I asked to have our room changed as the shower didn't work at all (even though the place was empty so it wasn't like anyone was busy or there weren't enough free rooms). Location was good as we were within walking distance of the Taj.
We travelled in May and it was really very hot!! You couldt breath in the room, even with the fan it was really very hot. Not hot water (but cold water was even warm for that day!). It said breakfast was included but we find out when we did the check in that only deluxe rooms include breakfast, so they offer to pay for it. We also got a really warm beer in the restaurant (and after complaining several times, they still charge it). Excellent location!! Just a short walk from Taj Mahal
We stayed for one night, the room was comfortable, good A/C, the resturaunt on the 2nd floor was nice, it's open air and overlooks the street. Excellent location for seeing the Taj Mahal, the ticket office and one of the entrances to the Taj complex are on the same road as the hotel and its very easy to get there. Also thanks to the staff for coming to our room twice to evict a lizard from our bathroom, my girlfriend really hates them!
This place is awful in terms of almost everything- extremely over priced, rude and unhelpful staff, unclean and dingy rooms, and the wifi only worked in the lobby. The only positive thing is it's proximity to the Taj. Wouldn't recommend this place at all!
Great hotel. Excellent value for money. Clean rooms with good amenities. Very close to Taj. Walking distance from Taj. You can it from the hotel. Great service. Staff is very attentive. Restaurant has very nice food. Very safe place. All the go to places in Agra are very close by. I am coming back in six months and will stay here again.
Spent only one night here to visit the Taj. Location is awesome, only 700m from east gate and easy walk to restaurants at south gate area. We came in at 0600 and had to pay an extra 300R for early check in which is reasonable I guess. There's a partial view of Taj from rooftop. Got breakfast at their restaurant which was ok, nothing special but not bad either. Staff could be more engaging, kept to themselves mostly.
It's near the taj mahal, you can walk to buy the tickets and visit it. Didn't do much more. The hotel next to it has a better view from their restaurant. Better sheets good be nice.
Location was quite excellent for the Taj Mahal and other sights in Agra can be reached for just a couple hundred rupees and the staff were pretty helpful, as well. The room and wash closet were not very clean or particularly nice and there was a stream of ants that made their way to my bed on my last night there. Overall, a nice place but I have heard from others that better places in Agra can be found for equal or better prices.
I stayed here for one night. It's situated about ten minutes walk from the Taj Mahal which is perfect and the facilities where decent. I didn't try the restaurant but it looked affordable and clean. The six bed dorm came with a towel and blanket and the shower was hot although the bathroom did smell like rotten eggs. All in all great value.
This is a great place to stay for short visit in Agra as it is 5-10 min walk to Taj Mahal. I stayed in a 6 bed dorm and it was perfectly fine. On the second floor there is a "restaurant" where you can have cheap meals and breakfast. The owner and staff are very friendly and helpful. As a western woman travelling alone I felt safe and comfortable at Rashmi!
On the way to the hostel, there were tonnes of stray dogs at night. They might follow you. You will hear dogs barking all night long. Low-pressure drippinng shower (when multiple showers were used) was frustrating. You can hear chitchattings, laughters and other kind of sounds clearly from next room through bathroom. Other than the location (near to Taj Mahal), thumbs-down.
The family that own the hostel are lovely, the location is fantastic, the rooms were clean and the hot water worked. The manager is a complete douche although he is a lot nicer when his boss is around, go figure.
The only dormitory guesthouse we came across in India- but why? Wicked opportunity to meet new people. Rooms were average size and our bathroom was small and it stank. Location wise is the lick- about 3 min walk to the taj ticket office and just over 5 mins walk to east gate! Stay for 2 nights; on the first day wonder around and buy your tickets for the Taj Mahal but don't go until the second day! Get to the gate early on the second day to beat the queue madness to see at sunrise!
we got food poisoning and we suspect it was from this place! (chicken). Other than that the hotel is average at best.
Convenient place to stay if you're headed to the Taj. The WiFi is good, and was up most of the time. Sheets were clean, but the blankets are the big puffy kind that rarely get washed (common in India), so if that kind of stuff bothers you, you'll be more comfortable with a liner. Only small complaint was the dankness of the bathroom and room upon entering. I was in the six person mixed dorm. Water was hot. Food at restaurant was decent. Would recommend if wanting few frills stay close to Taj.
is is a good place to stay if you want to see the taj mahal in the morning. it is very close to the south gate and at the hotel they are very friendly to help you with organizing your trip. The rooms are clean and the food at the hotel is OK. I stayed one night and i was pleased. Good value, friendly people and good location
