Pension Schmellergarten is just a 20-minute walk south of Munich's main railway station, we enjoy a central location close to an underground stop (Poccistrasse) and the Theresienwiese, venue of the Oktoberfest.

for our weekend stay, this hotel was perfect as it is very close to the city center (Marienplatz etc) and in the same street there are two nice bars/restaurants, too. It's worth the money - however, if it's noisy in the corridors, you won't get much sleep, you hear every word people say in the corridors...
