The hostel is very clean and comfortable, relatively new by the looks of the inside. The neighborhood looks a little sketchy but you soon realize most of Osaka looks the same way. I was the only english speaker there during my stay, not to mention the only one under 40, so the fun value wasn't that high but overall a good place, and very easy to get to Nara or Kyoto or other areas in Osaka. The hostel is very clean and comfortable, relatively new by the looks of the inside. They don`t speak english at all.
We had a reservation for a twin room and that were two capsuls together. They made us pay a big amount of money to get a room (the twin that we booked for).
It`s closed at midnight and there`s no chance of getting in (no key, code,...)
If you can,.. go to another hotel!!!!They don`t speak english at all.

Older man on front desk very friendly, although could not speak English, attempted Japanese with him, and he tried to be as helpful as possible. Young man on front desk was extremly rude on all occassions when myself and both travelling companions attempted to make enquiries on several occasions. No signage in english out front made it difficult to find. All in all, was not too bad for a business hotel, helpful to have someone in reception all times to make it bit safer, as homeless wandered in.Older man on front desk very friendly, although could not speak English, attempted Japanese with him, and he tried to be as helpful as possible. It was easy to find because i had read previous comments and found that having the SUNPLAZA as the landmark next to the hostel was excellent. We took the JR Loop line from Osaka to Shin-Imamiya station On arriving at the station take the West Exit and turn left. The area, while we had no problems,is very run-down. However, in all fairness if you only need a place to crash, as we did it was ok. It\\\'s near to the station and we were out early and back late. The doors close bween 12 and 4am.It was easy to find because i had read previous comments and found that having the SUNPLAZA as the landmark next to the hostel was excellent. The neighbourhood is very poor with a lot of homeless people that are drunk all day.The staff is not there. For us the worst thing was the discrimination of women! It's newly build with a lot of facilities for men(like a spa)but non for women!Women have no privacy at all in this hostel! The only two showers have to be shared with men, and there no place to change.Even if you lock the door men look at you through a window!toilets are shared too.For a better option go to Chou Oasis across the streetThe neighbourhood is very poor with a lot of homeless people that are drunk all day.The staff is not there. For us the worst thing was the discrimination of women! It's newly build with a lot of facilities for men(like a spa)but non for women!Women have no privacy at all in this hostel! The only two showers have to be shared with men, and there no place to change.Even if you lock the door men look at you through a window!toilets are shared too.For a better option go to Chou Oasis across the street...Close

Very good deal with budget traveller, for the money you paid, you have good service, spa, coin laundry, microwave, free internet, and safety.
The Staff dont speak English but you can get along with very little Japanese. The Location is superb, just underneath the JR or Nankai Shinimamiya, 30 min from Kansai a/p, 3 min Osaka Namba and 15 min to Osaka Central. Very Recommended!Very good deal with budget traveller, for the money you paid, you have good service, spa, coin laundry, microwave, free internet, and safety.

Staff doesn't speak English - they are calling a friend for translation but the friend doesn't understand English as well....
Curfew between midnight and 4:30, really unpleaseant and not written properly on their page, you discover it once you have paid.....
Shin-Imamiya Hotel is cheap but badly located, area of poor workers and drugs....
not recommended for woman travelling alone....Staff doesn't speak English - they are calling a friend for translation but the friend doesn't understand English as well....

Even though this hostel is made mostly for foreigners don't expect the staff to speak English, or even try to be helpful or courteous. The room itself (a twin ensuite) is fine and decently clean. The hotel is also right next to the station making it very convienent. It was worth the price but don't expect it to have the character and soul of a ryokan. This really is just a place to leave your stuff and sleep.Even though this hostel is made mostly for foreigners don't expect the staff to speak English, or even try to be helpful or courteous.
