Asked for a non-smoking room away from the train station this time, got one closer to the street. Not as much noise with the window closed. Internet was flaky from my room (wifi router on 10F and 8F, but not 9F). Still a good value for Osaka. Hot evening baths in the common o-furo are relaxing, though the men's changing room is smelling funky.

Common Japanese-style bath has limited evening hours suited to working types. Lots of longer-term residents stay here. Neighbors tend to wake up early to commute to work. Internet can be flaky in some rooms, but is generally fast. Got assigned to a smoking-allowed room - heavy cigarette odor! Nice views from the upper floors. Noisy from the Shin-imamiya train station (very convenient for JR Loop and Nankai (e.g., to Namba)). Easy walking to Tennoji, Shinsekai, and Den-den Town areas.

it was difficult to know if you were closed after 11pm. A taxi driver told me where the entrance was. I couldn't find the entrance.

Well its a old run down place close to the train & cheap if you want to spend a night there no worries but if you want to lounge in your room forget it.

put overall rating 4/10 for this hostel. location is very good as stated in his website 0mins walk fromt he train station. but the room is quite dirty, security very poor and the facilities is very poor so.. but it was very budget hostel for those wanna save cost in the accommodation.

Convenient: next to Shin-Imamiya station (JR and Nankai lines), walking distance to Dōbutsuenmae (useful Midosuji subway line), Spa World, Tsutenkaku tower (restaurants). A number of long-term residents. Working class neighborhood. To Ōsaka station on JR Loop takes 15-20 minutes. Limited common bath hours in the evening; miss that window, and you have to use one of the few pay showers (100yen for 5 minutes). Train station is noisy at nearly all hours. Fast internet, but overloaded DHCP server.

A good place to stay to get the airport train.

Should have some staffs that are able to speak major foreign languages, esp English. Instructions should be in other major languages eg. English or Chinese.

I stayed here despite the not-so-good reviews in the past. I wasn't expecting much, so I guess I got what I expected. It's in a convenient location to catch the train to Kansai Airport, but unless you plan on that, I wouldn't stay here. It was fine for a one night stay before heading to the airport the next morning. Just beware that the staff don't speak English, and you'll have to check out by 9am!
