Great hotel located in the city wall with top views! Pros * Located in the city walls with a great view of the city from the HUGE rooftop dining area * Great staff with good local knowledge * Super peaceful inside the city walls so a great break from the daily hustle and bustle Tips * I stayed in the Maharaja Room - great room that sleeps 3 * If used Trotters for the Camel Safari they were great
Awesome location inside the fort and room was really nice for the price paid. Restaurant views and setting are superb, food was fairly average though. Would stay here again for sure, would probably choose to eat elsewhere though.
Pro: Good location, good view on the rooftop, average meal. Con: We have confirmed with the hostel via mail and phone call that their staff will pick us up at railway station, but didn't show up, finally we have to find our way to hostel.
Great view overlooking the city from inside the fort. Room was large and there was a nice veranda to enjoy the view. Bathroom was basic and bed was hard but would stay there again. Staff was helpful.
Great place to stay with nice castle from view of the town/dessert. Nice staff and i managed to get my dessert tour arranged from here.
The hostel was very good and would stay here again. The location is amazing as you are staying in the fort. Also, I am pretty sure we overpaid a little for the camel trip through them, but they took us to a location where there was no other people, taught us how to make some indian food, and when we came back the next day, they gave us a room for two hours to clean up. So, with all the extra stuff included, it was well worth the extra money. The restaurant food was a little overpriced though.
We had a fantastic stay at Hotel Surja. We were lucky enough to be upgraded to a large room with a balcony & a wonderful view of both the fort, and the city below. You can't beat the atmosphere of staying within the walls of an ancient fort - it is an opportunity not to be missed. It is also in a great location within the fort - close to everything, yet out of the way enough for you to enjoy a little bit of silence. Overall the staff were extremely helpful & accommodating. A great stay.
Being in the fort is just great! Nice rooms, nice and helpful owners. Good food at restaurant with great view of town.
A beautiful hotel in the old fort with a royal welcome. Fantastic terrace with balconies, great to relax and enjoy the view. A super friendly owners and staff, a great place to stay!
nice clean hostel with things like hot water and aircon that are sometimes missing in India. also, beautiful views of the palace from the rooftop terrace and nice staff who were helpful. recommend.
We could only stay 1 night, but we had been there several days, Surja is a Guest House with personality, this wonderful place, but all the people who work there get you want to return. Our heart say thank you!

Being in the fort is awesome! This and The free pickup is what sold us to pick this place. Great people. Great rooms. One with the view has a cool little balcony. Restaurant has great great view. Good food. Good wifi. Did the camel safari one night through them and it was a good time. Thanks! Definetly one of the coolest hotels we've had in India.
The nicest place we stayed in India. The room was gorgeous with a fantastic view. The location was great and the staff were very pleasant and helpful. We booked our camel trek through them and it was fantastic!
Great place to stay. View from the restaurant terrace is amazing. Rooms are nicely decorated and clean. The best part was the two night camel safari the staff organized for us. The hotel runs its own camel tours, so you are not referred to someone you dont know. We highly recommend Kalu as a safari guide. The experience to ride through the desert, sleep in the dunes and enjoy the freshly cooked food was unforgettable.
