Just a run of the mill cheap hotel. The location is ok, but I'd have much preferred to stay at a hostel.
We chose the Japanese style room. As we got into the room, the smell was bad. And I forgot a towel there. When I went back there to get it, the staff said nothing found! People who cleaned the room must find it, but take it as their own thing! I won't recommend anyone to stay there again!!!

room was ok - a private roome is good value for such a cheap price. i also liked the sento bath. but the bed was very hard and unconfortable.

Hotel Taiyo was a very pleasant place to stay. It is an older building so the interior has an older look to it, but considering that it is in the middle of Osaka and near two subway stations, I thought it was a good value. The staff were friendly, helpful, and spoke English well. It was also quiet and the futons (traditional Japanese bedding) were comfortable. I would gladly stay here again.
A good place for stay for while if you like travel in osaka. they have Wifi on every level.
Nice rooms and decent staff in a less than salubrious area. There's no real common room, just a couple of chairs down in reception but this is a perfectly alright place to stay, not so good for meeting people. Metro is right outside and a couple of cheap supermarkets nearby so it's very convenient for moving around and eating.
There was a lingering smell of cigarette smoke outside my room - I think it was coming from a neighboring guest's room. Besides that the cleanliness of the place was perfect.
Like this hotel, it is the best hotel in term of value. Easy to access via JR and subway
The best hotel in term of value! Easy to access via both JR and subway.
Good value for money. Located in Shin-Imamiya district which is nearby to the lively area where the big tower is. You can find lots of cheap & traditional Japanese restaurants, the market & coffee shops. Close to the subway & JR station, so easy to get around Osaka. My only complaint, which was made by others who stayed here is that there are only 3 showers in the entire hotel! I spent a lot of time waiting to use the showers & most other guests were quite inconsiderate & took long showers.
Cheap and cheerful is how I'd describe it. I wouldn't say the location is wonderful, but it's so close to the metro that it doesn't matter. The hotel could be cleaner. My room didn't have it's own toilet. But you absolutely can't beat the price for a nice bed, air conditioning and a small fridge to store your conbini beers!
The staff here are super nice and helpful and friendly=)
This hotel was located conveniently close to one of the stations on the Osaka loop line. Reception was 24 hours which was handy when checking in after a late flight. It was basic but met our needs.
location is very nice, but the wifi signal in the room was weak....
The promised WiFi was very very slow. Furthermore the room seemed not to have been cleaned for the last days (or weeks) before we moved in.
(1) Insufficient shower area (2) dirty toilet with poor facilities
We stayed here for 4 nights. The location isn't the most prestigious looking but it is right next to a subway station. Our room had a fridge, TV (if you are inclined to watch Japanese TV) and air con. The one real problem I had was that our room had the most frightful smell inside of it- I think it was a combination of being old and previous people's food. I was on the 8th floor and the 3 showers are on the 2nd and 1st floor so that was a bit of a pain but nothing dreadful- often had to queue.
