Hotel very easy to find from Termini station even at night without map (very good direction provided) Very good location to reach mostly visited sights by foot( Coliseum 15-20 min walk) Private rooms extremely small, so room with a shared bathroom a better choice .

For a 2 star hotel, Hotel Texas is an excellent choice. It's extremely well situated, as you can either walk from Termini OR take the Metro to the Repubblica stop and walk down Via Nazionale til you reach Via Firenze. The staff is very welcoming - we got upgraded to having a shower en suite for the simple reason that we had read the reservation email and were aware of the city tax. The room we had specifically was small but comfy, and above all the double bed was comfortable.

The hotel staff who we checked in with was very creepy and made us felt uncomfortable. One of the toilet in the bathroom you could not sit straight, it was poorly designed. They had no hot water when we showered. The place was clean to say the very least, but was not the most comfortable place to stay at.

Location is great, close to Termini + some food and most major sights; kind of loud at night because close to two major streets; furniture was old and bed was basically all springs - staff did their best but not an English speaker around at all times so could be tough to understand. Was fine as a hotel for couples or older travellers, but for young travellers, don't expect to come here and party at the hostel - pretty quiet place to use as a home base for sightseeing/visiting etc.
