This hotel scared me a little. This is a very low quality hotel. For 15euros for one night, you need to really lower your expectation!

I wouldn't say this is a bad hotel at all, even though it appears so from the surface. It's just worn out, and given the price, it's no wonder that the owner has no money to maintain things. The staff is very friendly, they even helped me carry my luggage into the room. The only thing is that the room smelled like hay (probably from the worn out mats), but it's not dirty at all. If you're on a budget or feeling especially frugal, this is a good place to stay.

Probably the cheapest in Osaka. If your only concern is money, probably the best.

The location is average. It\'s not near to any landmark, but it\'s near to a metro station, so you can easily get to the city. On the other hand single room price was excellent, free internet, helpful staff, nice common room. Too little showers.

There is five floors with 38 rooms each floor in this hostel but there is only 1 bathroom here. You can use the larger bathroom at the other building (free), but male period is from 8:00pm to 10:00pm and 5:00am to 7:00am. For men, you have to wait for the mere bathroom if you come back late. Beside, the corridor is very smelly.

Not in a safe area but the hostel felt safe. The room I stayed in was very dusty and looked like it hadn't been vacummed in awhile. The staff was very friendly and helpful! Very close to the station so it made it easy to get to places.

Hotel Toyo and its wonderful staff was a great "konnichiha" to Japan. Tennoji area is atmospheric and full of character. Cheap Raman and Bento shops sit near bars and Panchinko parlous. Splendid temples are in walking distance and the subway is right outside. The hostels single rooms meet all ones basic needs and the commom area is very chilled out with people relaxing during the evening. Misuki at the front desk can not only help you in Osaka but also a future trip to India :)

First floor toilets very good. As soon as you reach the second floor you can immediately smell the toilets. Needs renovation.

The toilets were clean and well decorated. Unfortunately there were no washing basins in the room(s) itself, but in the room next door, which was always wet (floor and slippers) and not so clean. The showers were a bit nicer, but had an uncomftable floor and a not really working sexist "women lock, men not" system. The bath is at Hotel Taiyo and was really nice. The rooms themselves were clean enough and equipped as expected. I liked the pillow.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Unfortunately it stinks in the hallways and bathrooms and there is only 1 shower for 5 stories of rooms. However you can use the bath of a hotel nearby for free. It is cool to get an own room though.

The hostel is right beside a subway, it's fine for location, but it's in a really seedy area. I'd stay there again but only if I was travelling in a group- to go out at night alone is a little dangerous. The staff are lovely though.

Toyo is a good option for travellers on a tight budget. Not particularly 'nice', nor is it in a 'good part of town' but it is cheap, so if you're not fussy it might be just what you're after.

Toyo hostel is the best choice if you dont want to spend so much and to have a bit of privacy during the night. The kitchen and the common room are very nice and clean. The walls are so thin and you can hear quite every sounds from the other rooms but it is ok, it is nothin terrible :) The toilet were a bit stinky....the water for the washbasin always more than cold. The shower was nice, 1 shower room for all the guests, male and female, but ladies can put a notice that you are in. good enough!
