Best option we found on Hostel World, but if you show up in town and ask at the tourist info office you can find cheaper places. Good place if it's your price range, but if you're looking for something cheaper, it's possible.

a good hotel. it was about a 10 minutes walk to the old part of Tours and the tourist office. this is not a problem if you are using Tours as a home-base to travel outside and around the Loire Valley. the two people running it are very nice and showed interest in the day trips i had planned. i stayed downstairs, so it was very quiet. the room was okay. the bathroom was down the hall, the bed was very stiff (typical European), and the shower very small. the breakfast was well-priced and GOOD.

We enjoyed our stay at this Hotel. We had a great view of Montmarte's Sacre Couer, very helpful and friendly staff and no noise issues in the hostel. The hostel is close to a train station and grocery store. They had a well equipped kitchen which we could use for cooking. Disadvantage: We were on the 5th floor and there is no elevator in the building. Overall, a good experience.

It's a wonderful place, very quiet and peaceful when I was there. The decor was so quaint and I really liked my room even if it was soooo tiny and had no view to speak of (just overlooked a parking garage). There's a nearby laundry and supermarket. The TGV station is about a 20-minute walk, but with luggage it took me 30 minutes. And the tourist office is just opposite the TGV station. I was travelling by myself so I had a some trouble with my luggage because the hotel didn't have a lift.
