Pros *Location is not that bad, can easily walk to the old city in 10 mins or so. Had no issues with the locals though the street the hostel is on can be a bit intimidating. *Staff are very friendly. Cons *Rooms are small - *Even if you pay for aircon dont expect it to work! *Ceiling fans are rather worrying - ours had come away from the ceiling and shook violently when used however staff did not seem concerned *Rooms are very hot and humid. No outside ventilation

I stayed here twice, in Jan & Feb 2012 - the best budget accommodation (for a single room) I have found in Colombia. Very nicely kept rooms with private bathrooms & cable tv, good location and very friendly staff who remembered me on my second visit. Not much English spoken but they are very good at dealing with beginner Spanish! Also has an excellent same day laundry service.

I wouldn't stay here again. We booked a 'deluxe double ensuite'. When we arrived, there were no rooms left in the hotel, so they put us in an apartment across the road. No windows and extremely noisy and stuffy in the room (and an extra 20,000 COP for a/c). No hot water. Next day they moved us into the hotel, but the room was filthy. Very dated, mould on the ceilings, stains on bedsheets, cobwebs on fan. For 100,000 COP a night there are much better places to stay in Cartagena.

This hotel was a pleasure to stay at, it was well located and safe. The staff were exceptionally helpful and even though they didnt speak a lot of english with our spanlish we managed to get by very well. they went out of their way to make my stay enjoyable including moving me to a front room with a balcony. The hotel was very clean with a lovely roof terrace and good wifi (computers available to those without wifi). I would recommend and would stay there again without hesitation.

We had a great time and the staff helped us with information about the city and the area and the activities while making the habitat stay comfortable with that central location - close the holiday action and activities. Aloha and Pura Vida Ray Kottke

We enjoyed our stay at the hotel for the most part. For a hotel that deals with so many people that speak so little Spanish, they should learn a bit more English. The reservations system is chaos and we ended up having to switch rooms after the first two nights, but the staff were friendly and helpful when we needed it. The neighborhood is pretty terrible. You're off the noise of the main street, but the side street is full of drunks and prostitutes, and is constantly noisy 24 hours a day.
