Although the staff seems friendly, it takes a very long time to get problems solved. We had no heating in our room and we had to talk to three different receptionists and it seemed like none of them new that we had already spoken to the staff. Finally we got a new room around midnight on the second day. The first room we got had such a small bathroom that the door couldn't be opened all the way. They need to wash the sheets better, although it was obvious they were washed they still had stains.

location is very good , very close to metro . But the staff at the night was so rude. Rooms and sheets were not clean, sheets were full of hairs. blankets were like never washed.

Hotel not too bad itself, just lack of cleanliness and chemical smell in the bathroom constantly.

It`s a small and really simple hotel, with some remended and old-with-stains stuff, but really ok. it`s great if you just need a place to sleep. And if you plan to do stuff by walking it`s grea, because it`s near to the city center (I could go easily up to the Louvre, for example, Notre Dame was also really close). internet was available, also you could print your stuff there if needed. The bathroom in the reception is just horrible, but my room was really good with bathroom in nice conditions.

Both ourselves and our luggage were massively attacked by bedbugs in the first night - room 33. Cost us about 200€ in sanitation costs when we got back + physical and psychological damage. Once we got it we did some research in bedbugs and realized that there were several obvious indicators for them in the room. We expect the hotel staff to recognize these signs earlier next time - and we believe it is probable that they have done it but didn't care to fix it at an earlier occasion. //Adam

Honestly we had zero expectations for Hotel Voltaire, especially after seeing all the rest of the reviews. We are poor college students though, and this place had a great value for our money. When we arrived at the hotel, we were so pleasantly surprised to find a beautiful balcony, a kitchenette, and huge bathroom! Nothing in the room is new, nothing is of great quality, but it was absolutely perfect for students looking to get away to Paris on a budget! Highly recommend!!!

We booked this hotel in a hurry mainly because of the great location: close to two metro stations. The hotel was very dirty; it needs a general cleaning, carpets especially, wall repainting and what not. There was hair on the linen the first day we arrived! I slept in various hostels and hotels around europe and I have never seen a place so dirty, no matter the price. Interne not free, even when you pay it is slow an malfunctioning. If you book, don't take breakfast, better go to a patisserie.

This place is actually a hotel, not really a hostel. Our room was very nice with TV and its own bathroom, and it was cleaned every day. It is right next to a metro station so all attractions of Paris can be easily reached. The only thing is that breakfast and the WiFi are not included in the price, but it was still good value for money.

Positive: The hotel located in excellent location since it very close to the two Metro Stations, 50 m to Oberkampf and 200 m to Republique. We booked an appartment for 6 people which is recommended for travelling with big families and they also provide a ready to use kitchen that help us a lot. Negative: Their internet is not free (cost €1/30 min) which is c**p. The connection in the room is very slow and it just waste of money. Though they have a PC in the front office, its not free either

Our room smelled like an old ashtray, while the stench in the bathroom was hardly sustainable. Although I have the hunch, that other rooms were not that bad.

Very nice hostel, even for a small family like us travelling with a baby. Good location and well connected with subway and bus. We felt comfortable.
