Phuoc, who works at the front desk, offers an amazing culinary tour of Can Tho 3 times per week (currently). He takes you to 3 different local restaurants, helps you order and explains how to eat each dish. You just pay for the food (cheap) and tip him whatever you think is appropriate. This was definitely a highlight of my time in Vietnam -- these are not places or dishes that you would find on your own. They're both delicious and very cheap. Phuoc is great! The hotel is too, incidentally.

Immaculately clean, easy walking disctance from the town center, lovely staff and great value for money. For the same price as a dorm in many places, you get your own room in a lovely new building with an elevator. Only con--not so easy to meet other travelers because you're in your own room.

Staff deserves 200% rating. The receptionist made reservations for the ferry to Phu Quoc Island, ensuring that we'd get seats, organized a free pickup from the hostel to the bus station (reserved there as well) &wrote down detailed description of how we'd get to Phu Quoc - and how much it would cost. She did all this free of charge! We paid all of the companies directly, so no commision. The rooms were immaculately clean, very modern, comfy bed, strong AC&desktop computer in room! Stay here!!!

We had an ensuite room, which was excellent value for money. It didnt have a fridge or tv, but it had a A/C and it was very cheap. The location was pretty far away from the river (centrum) but it was definately a walking distance. The laundry was expensive, but they recommended another place which was cheaper, so it was okay. The staff had good english and if Jacques Cao (19y old staff member) ask you to with him on a vietnamnise cousine tour, you better say yes because its very very good!

Hotel Xoai was the best I had during my stays at 08 hostels in the three countries, recently. I was given a welcome drink-a refreshing watermelon juice. The youngsters at the front desk are quite helpful & polite. My room on the 4th floor was quite clean & worth the money. With free Internet & free Tea/Coffee, I really enjoyed being there.

We thought this place was great! We arrived at 02:00am on the train and they let us sleep in the common room till our room was available. They made us feel very welcome and were so nice. They loved to chat to us and learn more English. The hostel is very modern, clean and our rooms were superb. Really enjoyed the stay and absolutely loved Nha Trang!! Thankyou Hotel Xoai!
