EXCELLENT value for the money we spent, and as a bonus, we were able to us our JR rail passes from the closest train station. Very clean and everyone at the front desk was very helpful and good with English. Would stay here again for sure! Would be nice to have wifi in the rooms, that's the only drawback. Other than that, a very perfect place!

Hotel Yanagibashi was good value for money. It had clean rooms and helpful staff who spoke good english and were very willing to help out and answer questions. The location was excellent. The only complaints are: 1 the internet access in rooms for multiple people is limited to just one person, and sometimes the internet suddenly fails for a few minutes 2 some rooms do not have air-conditioning that can be controlled, so you might be stuck with a heater when you want your room cold or vice-versa

The hostel was very comfortable with great facilities. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. And while Asakusabasi isn't the most lively area, the hostel is very conveniently located opposite the JR and Subway station with a short walk away from Akihabara. We found it Yanagibashi Hostel good value for what it provides.

The rates are very cheap, the rooms are nice. you have a private bath (the ones we took), a double bed and a TV. the room is a bit small, but nothing to complain about. It looks a bit old, but hey come on this is as good as it gets for this cheap prize and location (just one stop from Akihabara). Basically if you want a better standard you have to pay more in a better hotel. The staff is very nice and polite, although they know a little bit english, don`t worry you` make it just fine.

The Staff was very helpful & kind. We were really grateful that he allowed us to check out at 11am instead of 10am which was a big deal to us as we could then visit Tsukiji Fish Market in peace. The bathroom was clean & we were pleasantly surprised to find the disposables provided in the room e.g. toothbrush, razors, etc. Its located very near to the JR train station which is less than 5 mins walk.

I really can't understand the high ratings for this location. There was no character, no atmosphere, just rooms the size of the beds which they contained. The nice thing was at least there was free wifi in the entrance hall...but at 1:30am they lock all the common areas, so you can't even effectively use it to get through a little jet lag. Staff knew nothing about the area...not where to eat, drink, even where we could find a pharmacy. Although the common rooms got locked after reception closed.

Great staff. I found Hikari, one of the bartenders, to be very friendly and engaging. It's good to have workers who not only do their job well, but enjoy it too! It adds to the good atmosphere of the hostel. Overall, no complaints! I enjoyed my time there.

It's a business hotel, not a hostel - but it's a great value if you are travelling in your own group and not looking to meet other travellers. Very clean, comfortable, albeit cozy (but it's Tokyo, so you can't expect spacious). The location is quite handy - it's a block away from both a subway line and from a JR line, and a maybe 15 minute walk from Akihabara. There's some great restaurants near the subway station entrance nearby. Hotel staff speak good English and are very helpful.

I was at the hotel during winter months. The is no heat anywhere. It got cold at night and I used a hair dryer as a heater to keep warm. Its cold all over the building. Bring extra blankets. Also the smoke detector is ultra sensitive. I took a shower and the fog set it off. It got annoying because it would ring in the whole building. They kept calling the room until it was decided to turn it off everytime I showered I called down.

Hotel Yanagibashi was a nice well run hotel. I stayed there for 4 nights and was treated very well. The staff are excellent and very very helpful. I lost my wallet in Toyko while I was there and I got a lot of help from the hotel and especially Tomoko who works there. She rang many places for me and tried her best to help me find my wallet, I really appreciate her help. I would really recommend staying here, rooms are nice and clean and the location is perfect for sight seeing

What sets this hotel apart was excellent customer service and affordable pricing. The location is perfect (very close to the station and within walking distance of Akihabara on the Yamanote line), the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and the rooms relatively large and very clean. When I need a hotel to use in Tokyo, this will always be my first preference.

I loved the location, very easy access to both the subway and JR! And the staff were quite friendly. We did have a problem though. Our bathtub stopped draining, and even when the owner pulled out a huge hair ball it continued to back up and gross stuff came out. :( Had to take showers standing next to the tub, not in it. Had the tub worked ok, I would have loved the place. The value was good, so I would consider staying there next time I go to Tokyo. Just hope we get a different room....
