We had an great reception from Sarah on a arrival. They have a very nice roof top garden, even had a chance to relax in the hammock!
This is a nice locally run place. The family that run it and staff are very nice, it's a lovely relaxed place.
The hostel was in a great location, had a lovely terrace and clean facilities. The private room we had was large as well. Our biggest problem was the noise in the morning as we were situated close to the reception ... the noise was from the cleaners talking loudly and banging around rather than other guests!
Enjoyed our stay here, the staff we met the first day were fantastic, the dorm was nice, everything is cleaned regularly and the location is great. 10 minutes walk to the ruins, it's also right in town. The only thing that let this place down was two of the younger staff members (or son of the owner and friend maybe) who were constantly cranking insanely loud music in the common area and playing "pool" (throwing balls around) and making stupid noises. Annoying from people working/helping there.
I thought the only thing that needs more attention is the kitchen which had few pots an pans, no salt and sugar and no cookinh oils. Everything elase was good value.
The staff was extremely nice and accommodating; they arranged our shuttle service and checked in with us by email before and after our stay. The atmosphere is relaxing and close to everything; the ruins are within walking distance. My only complaint is that the showers were cold.
We love this hostel! We are volunteer teachers in Honduras and we've stayed at Berakah a couple of times. The staff has always been super friendly. They have lots of different activities you can sign up for. We've done the tour of the ruins with Julio (he's great!), Hot Springs (amazing!), zip-lining, and bus to Antigua, Guatemala. All were great. The rooms are clean and there are great areas for hanging out. Also very close to the center of town. Great stay.
Good place to stay when visiting Copan. Close to the ruins and centre of town. I was staying in the mixed dorm and fell ill with a bad fever. The guys here then gave me a room to myself free of charge. Good staff and facilities, would definitely reccomend.
