I booked a double room for myself, the room was big and spacious, clean bathroom and a window with a vista of the main beach. Cable TV and fan helps a lot, though I couldn't get the WIFI to work on my macbook. Otherwise I had an excellent stay, would have stayed on if I had time.I booked a double room for myself, the room was big and spacious, clean bathroom and a window with a vista of the main beach. This place was amazing! my girlfriend and I got upgraded upon arrival which was awesome to a room with a view of the ocean and a tv with satalitte programs including english movies, which was perfect for an afternoon siesta, the kitchen was great and the hostel was constantly cleaned, the location was very conveniently located to the swimming beach, highly recommend this place. So relaxing, very upset to leave. Great place to stay! Clean, safe and very friendly owner who made our stay perfect! Good place to meet people, close to restaurants. Much better than the filthy Tower Bridge Backpackers. The Mayflower was an excellent place to stay, the staff was very welcoming and very helpful with lots of information about the local area. The accomodations were well above expectations and the location was great. I would recommend a stay at the Mayflower in either the Hostel or Hotel section. The Mayflower was an excellent place to stay, the staff was very welcoming and very helpful with lots of information about the local area. Overall, a good hostel with a large common area and wonderful kitchen. The hostel was very hot though, and the fans did not do much to help. Also, some of the showers did not work well, so I routinely went to the other side of the hostel to shower. It is located pretty centrally between the two best beaches, Zicatela and Caranzalillo.Overall, a good hostel with a large common area and wonderful kitchen. Very clean hostel on a perfect location. If you want to swim in the sea, you'd better stay in this part of Puerto Escindido, the other beaches are way too rough. We stayed in a beautiful double room on the upper floor. For us a downside of this hostel was, that it has a really hostel-like feeling about it, it's like being on a camp with a large group of people...Very clean hostel on a perfect location.
