Well located. Basic breakfast with supplement. Old rooms, small stairs, no elevator. The room wasn't really clean, found nails pieces, dirty spot on the duvet cover. The sheets were strangely placed, one foolded under the duvet cover and one not surrounding the mattress. Even if the leaving time is 11h I was put out of my room by the cleaning lady at 10h20 not even on my last day... There was still a painting tape left on door frame of the bathroom and the super small shower was still dirty.
The room was very small and staffy. Considering it as an old building, it was acceptable but the toilets were not clean, and there was a stench coming from it. Reception was narrow and claustrophobic, overall there was just insufficient space in the hotel.
This 'old' hotel is centrally located in the chic shopping district and the monuments are close by. While the hotel is old and very basic, it is clean with good hot water pressure. A few doors up is an excellent bakery and restaurant, Le Menthe , a block up the street on the corner is excellent.
I really liked this hotel. Yes the bathroom is tiny but it is perfectly fine for its purpose. I had a massive bed for just me, clean room and the men at the reception are lovely. Being able to get the wireless up in my room on the 4th floor was much appreciated. Only concern for older travellers is that there are a lot of stairs up to the rooms. For me I enjoyed the exercise but for others it would be something to consider.
