Hotel de Paris Reviews

No character to this hotel- an outdated reception area with no decoration. The room was outdated with peeling wallpaper. Bed with dent in it and odd plastic covering. Safety deposit box with no instructions on how to use it. Had to leave key at reception- why is this? Made me feel as if the possessions in my room were not as safe as they should be. Staff could be friendlier. No atmosphere, just a place to sleep. For about 70 euros I was expecting more! One very slow computer to access internet.

Excellent hotel, great location staff very friendly

Very affordable as it is not right in the centre of Paris but with the Metro almost right infront of the hotel we had no dramas getting anywhere. We didn't like leaving our key at reception when we went out as the requested as they were hung on a board with numbers dispayed which I felt was unsafe as anyone could ask for our room key - reception was however always manned. We had a shared bathroom but no dramas and still had a sink in our own room. No fan or air con so noisy with window open

The hotel was not so bad for the price we paid, but there was really a terrible smell of fresh paint all over the floor. Furthermore, 4 days are elepsed and I still have to get the money for the preauthorisation back.

Good value for money. good location, great for backpackers, basic facilities

Overall our stay here was very pleasant and at a great price considering the prices in Paris. The only thing it is in a bit of a dodgy feeling area but it's close to the metro so easy to get around. The guys on the front desk are friendly and there 24hrs. The room was simple, clean and exactly what we needed, cheaper than a dorm down the road. Actually tried to book here again but it was full. Recommend!

Good things? The staff was helpfull enough. The rooms were cleaned every day, as well as the shower. The location is excellent (right in front of a matro station and close to cheap restaurants and a supermarket). In a really expensive city like paris, it's worth your money. Bad things? My room was vary dark (poor lighting). The curtains too thin (light sleepers wake up with the sunshine) and there was onyl one toilet and only one shower for the entire floor with 11+ rooms!! Safebox too small!!

Not impressed. The room smelled like old vegetables, the lights did not work, only one (long) pillow was provided for a double bed. One toilet per floor, and the door to the toilet did not close. Only one shower per floor, which was cramped and leaked out into the hall. Would not recommend this place.
