The hostel was right next to a metro so that was convenient, but it is quite far from the Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe etc. We paid 58 euro for a private double room with bathroom, so for Paris the price was good. We were expecting 2 beds, but there was one double bed. The towels in the bathroom were wet, so we had to ask for new ones and we were not sure how well the bed was cleaned. Security was good though. Not the best place to stay but for a few nights it was fine.

The worst aspect of Hotel Des Olympiades was the location - we experienced a pickpocket attempt about 10 metres from the hotel, with the offender following us up the road. As two female travellers, we felt very unsafe walking around this part of town, even during daylight. Guests disrespected shared bathroom situation (the bathrooms were quite dirty), and this was not helped by the lack of a sink (needed to use the sink provided in your room). It's definitely worth spending the additional money!

The Hotel is located near metro and Velib bike station, therefore it is easy to get to centre of Paris. Do not expect something awesome, it is just good place where to stay at night for very cheap price :)

The hotel is tired and run down, floors creak and the noise from the street below can be quite loud - but I was expecting this. The sheets and towels were clean, toilet on the corridor too, the wifi and the lock on my door worked fine and there are two metro stations close by. An extra blanket would have been nice, though, the room was chilly and the cover thin. Only thing that truly bothered me was the smell of mold; that's a problem that could do with fixing.

The hotel was nothing special, but since accomodation in Paris is quite expensive it is a good option for those who don't want to spend too much money on it. I'm pretty sure you won't find anything better in this price range. Staff: the receptionist was nice, spoke English; we didn't meet enyone else from the staff. Location: quite far from the city center, but really close to 2 subway lines that goes right downtown; and only a walking distance from Montmartre district and Sacre Cour church.

I felt very unsafe in the area surrounding the hotel. We ended up leaving early and staying at a nice hotel.

We had a hard time finding it because we arrived at night. We walked in the wrong direction in a huge circle, and later saw the Simplon stop from our window. From the Gare de L'Est, get on Metro line 4 in the direction of Porte de Clignancourt, and get off at the Simplon station. Cross the street and head up Rue Jospeh Dijon, and the immediately turn left on the first street. The hotel is right there on the corner. It's an old building, but nice enough. Reasonably priced for groups.

I stayed there 3 nights and additional 1 more night in double room. Receptionist was friendly and helpful, location was perfect. On metro line 4, just 2 minute walk to Simplon metro station. You can access so many attractions on this line easily. The hotel is historical but cute. There's elevator, hot water in bathroom (but you have to push the button periodically to get water, very old system actually), cleaning on the morning. I can say it's worth the money I paid.

Nothing luxurious, but okay for the little money we paid. Visitors should know that booking a room without a shower means using one of the two (!) showers on first and second floor, even if you live up on the fifth or sixth. The beds seemed clean to me, so the room service was okay also. Unfortunately, the lady at the reception doesn't have good english skills so the communication was hard. Nice Parisian atmosphere and really well located at the Simplon metro station and near Sacre Coeur.

It seemed that staff has taken into account all the comments that were left here and improved all that they could. I would definitely stay there again!

The basic essentials that are needed. Pretty clean facilities, although the place is very dark. No lights until you find the switches in the hallway.

The hostel was in a great location, right off the bus stop. But the beds were not clean, the room I stayed in smelled like cigarettes and the staff were not attentive. There were also no showers, there was a 10 euro charge for taking a shower a day.

I found hair on my pillow the first night which could not have been from me or my travel companions, so that was a bit offsetting to begin with.

The gentleman at the front wasn't very nice at one point when he didn't remember I was staying there, and the cleaning ladies came every day even though we were staying there for three nights. And they weren't very nice either. But the location was fine for seeing Paris and the facilities were clean. I would stay here again.
