Very unpolite person by check-in, Showers would cost extra, 10 Bed dormitory was a romm with 24 beds in it...

Good points - only one - close to this extraudinarily beutiful big waterfall and stunning lake.
Bad points - while cheap need to add another 2200 yen to your bill for the return bus journey from Nikko (hostel 40 minutes away from Nikko) plus 750 yen to have a bath, as that's not included in the price of the room. All in all - cost = 4450 yen. Must keep that in mind, although the countryside, waterfall and lake may make this dump worth your while.

The dorm was for 24 beds (and not 10 as they say). It was ok because we were only 5. But they asked us more money that what they say on the website for shower and onsen (I think it was the only way to have a shower). Good position to visit Kegon Fall but far from the station and from the temples area.

rooms and hotel do not look like the pictures in the web which are a joke, toilets and showers were ugly, staff was strange, the building is like a ruin, would never come back here again!!!

A very expensive bus ride (2200 yen return per person) that is not mentioned on the website. Bearing that in mind this is no longer cheap. Hotel is a bit of a dump, but the rooms are clean.

This place is nice if you want some time out in a nice area. But it's a 40 min bus ride from the centre of NIkko and the bus is expensive (1100Y one way) so it's not the best place to stay if you want to see the Nikko sights. It's right beside the lake and has it's own onsen which is nice, but you have to pay extra for it, and considering there isn't a shower apart from inside the onsen, it's kind of obligatory.

What a special "indian" place in the middle of Japan. We enjoyed our stay very, very much and appreciated the stuff and the indian food in this Hotel.

I really enjoyed my stay at Hotel Asian Garden. The location was excellent, very easy to find off the bus from Nikko, and right next to the lake.
They did not have my reservation, however, and therefore the deposit that I was charged on hostelworld.com did not go to my stay. Also, they price for the mixed dorm was more like 22 dollars, rather than 15, because they automatically charge you for use of the onsen.
