Turap is a very charming and attentive host. We chose to stay in Uskadar to experience a less touristy side of Istanbul (as contrast to Sultanahmet). The very comfortable apartment which is House of Turap was a quiet haven. Easy walking to ferries and buses. Very good breakfast.

Turap as a host is second to none, breakfasts were delicious and we would be happy to stay again any time.

A great experience in Istanbul. A very personal service from Turap who is such a lovely guy and goes way beyond to accommodate and make you feel welcome. The rooms are bright and the bed very comfy. the breakfast was excellent with a variation each day. There are 3 rooms that share 2 bathrooms and there is a big lounge area and balcony. Staying on the Asian side is a great idea and it is so easy to get to the centre of Istanbul. I cannot recommend this place enough and beats staying in a hotel!

Could not recommend House of Turap 2 (He has two guesthouses, I stayed in number 2) more highly. It was clean and quiet and comfortable, breakfast was incredible, and Turap was kind and helpful. If you are sharing with a partner, the price is only marginally higher than a 12-bed dorm in Sultanahmet. The location was very good, for me. It is in a very Turkish (non-touristy_ neighbourhood on the Asiatic side - a short 2 lira ferry from all the attractions. Get around it.
