This hostel was a great place to stay at. The hostel owner Lisa was very friendly and accommodating. She helped us book a tour to Taroko gorge and had many other suggestions of what we could do with our time in Hualien. She also cooked us a delicious Taiwanese meal at night and loves to stay up and chat to her guests. The room we stayed in was clean and spacious and beautifully decorated and the bed was incredibly comfortable. Thank you Lisa for a wonderful place to stay in Hualien.

We had such a good time at this hostel. Our host was friendly and welcoming. She even gave us some fruit and beer! Her hostel was clean and very homey. We were very happy with our stay. When I'm back in Hualien I'm staying there again!

Lisa was positive and helpful - she even got us on a beautiful bus tour down to Kenting that dropped us right off at our next hostel. The location is ok, but a bit of a walk from any of the main areas. About 5 mins to the train station, 20 to the night market, and 30 to downtown. Our room was big and beautifully decorated with a four-poster bed! Everything was pretty clean, though the fake plants in our room were coated in a ridiculous amount of dust - I'd rather there be no fake plants.

Lisa is an amazing person and the hostel was perfect.

The owner and staff are friendly and laid back. We had a mix up with our room but it was an easy fix. Dulan is an absolutely beautiful place, we were very pleased with how low key, inexpensive and quiet it was. A short walk to the beach and an amazing Vietnam restaurant you have to try if you make it out. Recommended for easy goers.

Minsu is 10 min from the train station. I got into Hualien at 10.30am. Went to buy return train ticket to Taipei, then check out public bus schedule before heading to the minsu. The bus station is in the front station and you need to exit from the back station to get to the minsu. There is an excellet ru rou fan 3 mins walk from the minsu. A great breakfast place about 15 mins walk from the minsu. They sell sao bing you tiao, soya drink, jiaozi. It has 70 years history. Lots of locals queue.
