The private 3-person en suite is quite spacious and comfortable. The staff is helpful (maybe a little too much so), and there is ample common area. The hostel is located in a great spot for walking around Tunxi and getting out to some of the sites beyond.

Great location right next to old street. Staff friendly and able to set up bus tickets to huangshan. Several nice lounges and plenty of information available. Stayed in the dorm which was fine, albeit spartan. Wish there had been more common bathrooms/showers (1 each/floor). Maybe I should have upgraded to a private room :)

Nothing is more important than cleanliness when staying in a hostel in China. This hostel was clean! The staff was great too which makes a big difference. There was also lot's of room to relax and have a beer which is much appreciated after a long day of hiking.

Really good hostel, held our room for us despite an unexpected late arrival, we were in a twin private which was small but comfortable. Good laundry facilities with free washing powder, and there were plenty of spaces to chill, in slightly rundown unused rooms. Staff booked all mountain transport, accomodation, and return travel to Shanghai really easily and there was a good packed lunch service for taking to the mountain. The bar/restaurant had good food but very slow service - it's underused.

Huangshan Ancient Town Youth Hostel has an extreme great location in Tunxi City. However, it feels more like motel/hotel instead of hostel. I dont feel the friendship, and it is quite hard to meet other travelers. The hostel is huge, it has its own bar and playing ground in "B" part. I was with my other 2 friends staying for 2 nights in here, we booked a room of 4 beds, however, they gave the whole room for us.

We had no complaints. If I ever go back back to Huangshan, I will defiantly stay at this place again!

Great facilities! Even better staff. Thanks! The Xidi/Hongcun tour (200 RMB per person) is a good value for the money, but having TWO tourist-shopping stops for one short day was pretty tacky. If there was another tour company that kept it to only 1 stop (skip the weird, uncomfortable bamboo-products shopping stop!!!) the day would feel much more positive.

Staying here was a real pleasure. The hostel is very nice with a typical architecture. And the staff is very helpfull and never try to influence your decisions thinking about your money. They really want the best for you. We also had a Chinese lesson at 5.30am on how to give the train station direction to the taxi driver. We'll definitely come back here. Thanks Camille and Clemence

The location was fabulous, just off Tunxi's beautiful old street. Staff were very helpful in organising our time in the region. And they kindly let us use the bar kitchen to cook some leftover food we had in our packs. We ended up returning to stay a few more days after we visited Huangshan (Yellow Mountain.)
