We stayed one night at the backpackers in Hué. The location is great and the staff are friendly and helpful. Good atmosphere, the night we stayed there was a quiz downstairs, which was a lot of fun. The bar offers food and cheap beer. The free breakfast is a bonus too. The dorms aren't too bad, there are lockers under the bed (you need your own padlock). However, for a 12 bed female only dorm there was only one bathroom. Impractical but not the end of the world.
Staff spoke good english and were very helpful when booking tickets to move on and looking for things to do in the city. Very easy to meet people here but not advised if you want a quiet stay. Drinks were average priced and free breakfast was good.

Great atmosphere, helpful staff, yummy breakfast, comfy beds, hot water. Internet is amazing when you are in range, but some rooms are not. One bathroom/shower in the 10 bed dorm which wasnt a problem in the mixed dorm, but in the girls dorm was diffiicult to manage. Ordered the burger from the menu twice and i wish i could eat it again now. The atmosphere is very relaxed and friendly, and would recommend staying here if you are in hue.
Great atmosphere and a good place to meet people.

The street can be loud sometimes. The breakfast isn't good. It says free breakfast, but only the basics are for free. If you want ham with your eggs you have to pay 20.000 as example. The bar is cool, but the drinks are also very expensive.
Stay was average, were waiting a really long time breakfast each morning, kept asking different waitresses where the fried eggs were, other guests got served a lot before us. On arrival reception staff were rude and robotic, no 'welcome to Backpackers Hué' or anything; they weren't wearing name badges so makes it difficult to make a proper complaint. Leaving our bags at the bottom of the stairs for everyone to trample over was not appreciated, didn't feel secure. Great atmosphere and location!
Our private room was very small, although perfectly fine for a night and perfectly clean. Downstairs seemed pretty lively with some awful quiz - nothing like a few sexist quiz questions to get everyone in the mood eh!
I absolutely loved this hostel! The staff was AMAZING! So funny and sarcastic. And they facilitate fun things for the guests like quiz nights and day trips. But the best part by far was Zach and Locky! I was only planning on staying one night but extended my stay because these guys were so much fun! They really went above and beyond to make sure all of the guests enjoyed themselves. My only gripe was the beers were expensive and you are not allowed to bring in your own alcohol. But still, tops!
