Dirty, Dirty, Dirty... thats all I can say. One of the worst backpackers experiences for me ever. Even cheapest hostel in Thailand might be better. No security as out dorm room has been open day and night. cleanliness is non existing, fortunatelly no bed bugs though. The location directly toward the stress full of adult shops and striptease show is a big nono. I havent slepts until like 5 am. HORRIBLE PLACE!!

Great friendly staffs, good atmosphere for backpackers. But rooms are dark, humid, and smelling. Hot shower is not enough. Totally, I can't believe that this hostel is in developed country.

Hostel was great. They provide many activities and are good for younger people who like to party.

The hostel is quite dirty, hot and the rooms are cramped. The "free "breakfast leaves much to be desired and the hostel staff played very loud music until 1 am making it impossible to sleep.

Best hostel I have ever been to! People are absolutely amazing, feels like a big family. Staff is super friendly, helpful and always up for a joke. The hostel offers lots of great parties, free food, free drinks etc. Had the best time with you guys - thanks a lot!!!

I absolutely loved this hostel! I stayed here for about 2 months in total. The rooms are very comfortable and clean. Every room has sink and mirror, which is really nice. The location of this hostel in right on darlinghurst rd and it is ACTUALLY right in th middle of the cross, unlike like the other hostels that claim to be. The staff is amazing, the owners make you feel welcome and join in on the fun! Stay on a Friday night for an unforgettable KARAOKE night! Thanks for a great stay!

Overall very good hostel. The staff were friendly, the nightlife was fun and it was very easy to meet people. Recommend for a solo traveller.

I recently stayed at Hump for a week. I had a great time. The staff was extremely friendly, and you could tell they were really making an effort unlike some of the hostels I've been at. The hostel also looks to be in the mist of sone renovations which should help clean it up a little as well. All in all, a great place. P. S. Avi is hands down one of the friendliest people I've met in my time in Australia and an absolutely amazing receptionist.

We only stayed three nights but loved it, staff were great, everyone staying was friendly, kings cross is a hell of a lot better than everyone says! We didn't have even the slightest issue there. Right next to the station and all amenities on the door step if not provided by the hostel. Plus free BBQ and pancakes on a Sunday! And tonnes more events all a good crack! We liked it so much we are going back for a longer stay! Definitely recommend to any easy going backpacker(s)

A great place to stay, Staff are so helpful, always looking to go that extra mile to help. The events that are put on daily are so helpful for lonely travellers to meet new people. There are minor improvements that could be made, but with the owners working daily to rebuild the hostel i could not complain. All around great stay.

First Hostel to lock the kitchen at nighttime. Funny if you have got an early flight to catch and can't get to your food - though you've told the staff just the morning before ...

Free breakfast, free pancakes on Sundays and free BBQ on Fridays! Also events and evenings organised by the staff such as taco nights and karaoke night! Stayed for Australia Day and one of the owners gave out free beer. Staff were extremely helpful and overall there was a very friendly atmosphere! Only real negative points were the showers aren't great and the kitchen could get crowded but overall the place was brilliant!

Highly recommended! Had a great stay here! The staff is really nice, especially Nick (if I remember the name well)! I got problems with the guest-computers installing something, and he just offered me to use the frontdesk pc, even though he was working on it and guest came in: really helpful; thank you! Free wifi was ok, breakfast simple but good and good beds =) . Oh, and they offer really nice activities every day and de-li-ci-ous pancakes on Sunday morning! Nomnomnom!

Best hostel i've stayed in sydney so far. Free barbecue night, free pancakes, movie night, library I extended my stay 1 more night and they kept my upgrade and rate Highly reccommendable

Good hostel, lots of people including myself staying here longterm. One of the few hostels in Sydney that will not make you go to the bar or bed in the evening around 11pm, with a room you can party in all night. Free unrestricted internet and wifi. The hostel itself is in an old building, and although repairs, upgrades, and improvements are always ongoing some of the areas could still use a little improvement. The kitchen is a little small and can be crowded at times. great staff always helping

This is by far the best hostel I have ever been to! Great location, cheap and the staff are very friendly who always go the extra mile to make sure your stay is pleasant and create a nice atmosphere. The hostel is very sociable, with a great vibe. They have FREE: breakfast, BBQ Saturday's, Pancake Sunday's, even sometimes ALCOHOL in the party room, wifi, TV, $1 tacos, earplugs, washing powder. There is also a board with planned events to allow you to see Sydney and meet people on your travels!

This is by far the worst hostel I've ever stayed at. Cleanliness so bad that you don't even have nightmares about that. The floors were literally soaked in some sort of sticky dried out fluid - most likely booze since the people I saw there were all heavily drunk or intoxicated in other ways. Newly renovated, it says in the description - ehm, are we still living in the 60's or has the building just been worn out very quickly from the lack of maintenance?
