Good luck finding this place, no signage is your first hurdle. Upon finding it, you realise that it is located in a bit of a rundown block of flats adjacent to a park. I must confess that we made the decision to look elsewhere once seeing it. Irkutsk was however a wonderful little city, well worth a day or two if you plan to visit beautiful Lake Baikal.

Great location and nice small place. Dmitri was very helpful in the daytime and had a very nice energy. The night time went a bit crazy and we got no sleep at all due to drunken shouting and banging all night. I'm sure this doesn't happen every night but it was a real shame for us and we got the train at 7,30 the next day feeling awful. Nevertheless - it was an experience!

Manager half of the time isn't there but there y-is a direct line between him and the hostel. He is good in fixing things. Kitchen is substandard. Hostel tends to be chaotic when Dimitri isn't there.

positives- Dmitri was helpful with advice especially with lake baikal. hostel always warm with free tea and coffee. laundry facilities for a cost. negatives -says breakfast is included but in reality only when Dmitri goes shopping. would be better to say it wasn't included so that it would be a nice bonus if it was there. the beds are the hardest things in the world, much more uncomfortable that platskartny train beds. you're basically lodging in Dmitri's house. the one laptop painfully slow.

I don't feel that I have much to add to the glowing comments by other travelers below. The location, the accommodation, the excellent value - and a host extraordinaire. This is definitely a home-away-from-home. Thank you to Dimitri for helping to make our time in Irkutsk such a memorable experience

Good little place to stay - like visiting a friend's house rather than staying in a hostel. Dmitri, the owner of the place, is great and gives good tips for eating out, local transportation etc. Could change the mattresses though, they were pretty hard. :)

Dmitri the host was extremely helpful. His English and communication skills were excellent. The only negative comment wasregarding the hardness of the beds. Despite this the experience was very enjoyable.
