IHSP Chicago Hostel at Damen CTA Reviews

The rooms were cozy and warm, a very nice contrast to the cold of the Chicago winter.. especially after sitting outside for the NCAA Hockey Classic. The breakfast pancakes were large and delicious, and the only problem I encountered was the lack of parking, but they tell you where you can park for free. Thank you for a wonderful weekend.

It is a little expensive. Others are ok.

Have a good trip in! Really good ambiancy, near to good bars and clubs (just 2 minutes and you are in a bar!) Near to the center with the Subway, just 20 minutes to go in! You have Walgreen near to buy some food and beverage. And many other place to eat around the hostel! So, I really enjoy my trip in this hostel!

An amazing stay in a nice hostel, located in the perfect neighbourood for partying ! The environment of the hostel allowed me to meet a lot of other people willing to go out. The personnel was also very nice and helpful, as usual (it was my second time here).

My friend and I are from Morocco, and we really enjoyed our stay there while visiting Chicago!! The staff was really nice and helpfulI. The metro station is in a walking distance, which was really great !! We would definitely come back to this hostel in our next trip!!

I loved IHSP. I was deciding between two hostels in the Wicker Park area, and chose IHSP last minute. I am really glad I did, because everything there was amazing. The staff was always friendly, no matter who was behind the desk, They offered plenty of space, like a living/entertainment room and a nice, stocked kitchen. Our room was right next to the sink/shower area which made everything convenient. The roof deck is also a really nice plus! My only complaint was the pillows. Bring your own

The location is amazing, Wicker Park neighborhood is a great area of Chicago. Lots to do shopping near and its just a quite rail ride to the water front!

We only spent a night there but really appreciated the size of our room and the pancakes were just delicious. All the staff we talked were super nice and very helpful. The hostel is easy to find and only 15 minutes from the loop, with the blue line and there is a lot to do around.

Was very good! The only bad thing was pretty noisy at the night because we were sleeping right in front of the kitchen.

I thought the services and staff of IHSP Chicago were above spectacular. Olivia and Kristen helped me with everything I needed including local hot spots, eateries and transportation. Their insightful help made it possible to for me to save some money on my trip which is invaluable in itself. I would definitely recommend this location to others.

Great hostel with an amazing location. Lots of fun bars and cheap places to eat close by. Free parking was a massive bonus. Dorm room my group had was spacious and modern. Rooftop patio was awesome even in the cold January snow. Cool common area to kick back and enjoy a few beers in that can be picked up super cheap from the Walgreens next door. Plenty of wash facilities in the hostel. All the staff were super helpful. Will definitely stay again when back in Chicago! All the best, Andy

My third time at IHSP Chicago, I had a great time like always, I loved to stay in the main building but I still prefer the second building next to the bluebird! Anyways, very good hostel. I'm coming more times guys! (I forgot a half-pack of blue moon in the refrigerator guys, sorry!). Thanks, Phillipe

The hostel is located in a really nice building. the rooms are large and the common area is really big and spacious also. The hostel was really clean and bright and the staff were all really friendly and very helpful. It is right beside the Damen CTA blue line so really convenient for coming/going to O'Hare. There are some good bars around so you dont have to go downtown every night. The pancakes in the morning were a nice touch also... definitely recommend, Jason R

excellent clean comfortable and cosy hostel. had a private room so can't comment or security in dorms. staff were lovely, really friendly and helpful. hostel was quiet as it was January, but was a nice atmosphere, clean modern common area with pool table and huge tv, also free Internet use on their computers and of course wifi. showers weren't the best, had cold water sometimes, but overall an excellent hostel in a cool and convenient neighbourhood.

IHSP is well-located, in really nice area with many bars and funny places. And the free pacakes are so gooood. It was great! Thank, Margot

Everything was good, except that it get so Hot in the monrning at the rooms.

I recommend this hostel 100% to everybody because is awesome!! The employers here are amazing and the best staff I have never seen!! And location in absolutely perfect!!! My favorite staff is WYATT because he is showing the best places that there are in the area!!! And sometimes he join with us!! to sum up in one word: This is COOOOOL!!!

The private room situation was prone to a bit of noisiness from other guests, but otherwise we had a great stay! Very hospitable staff, great room, and lots to do around that area Thanks!
